Anyone else unhappy with XM since the merger?
Since XM merged with Sirius, I've noticed that there's a lot more chatter on many of the channels. I've noticed it on the "Decades" channels (60s on 6, 70s on 7, 80s on 8) - there's talk or XM jingles after practically every song. It reminds me of AM radio and I find it to be extremely annoying. IMO it adds absolutely nothing of value for the listener. Anyone else here have thoughts?

Also agree. XM went from terrific to terrible. And what the hell happened to the cinema channel?? Why is it off until the first of the year??
Lots more chatter, music selection has deteriorated.

I loved XM, was going to sign-up for more.
After the merger they borked 10 of the twelve stations I had on presets!!!
So when they called I told them I did not like any of the changes and that I would not sign up...
So sad...

I take it for what it's worth. I'll be coming up on my 3rd renewal in a few month and hope the "ole $77" still works at that point.

I was unhappy with XM from day one. I got the three free months and had issues with drop outs while driving on highways with no trees or buildings nearby. Got two calls to sign me up and one came in after just two weeks from activation. They wanted my credit card to "set up" an account. Didn't happen.
I'm back to FM and CDs.

I agree with the comments about too much chatter on the music channels. So I listen to news channels like CNN when I turn on XM. Otherwise I make my own CDs and play them when I want music.

I had Sirius before the merger, some of may Sirius channels are gone and I have noticed more talk between songs. If it were'nt for the playboy channel (99) I would cancel too

I lost my favorite channel which was the disco channel. Now I listen to the Groove. I get alot of drop outs with my Corvette, in my Acura I get no drop outs. If I can't get the $77 deal again I will cancel.

Xm
I started having poor reception early last Summer. They have reprogrammed my cars. I still lose the signal way to many times, even out in the open. They dont seem to concerned about this. XM is a item I can easily do without. They have almost no Positive Customer Service. They tell me that they have merged but that they still are 2 separate companies. That means there are no positive benefits for us Customers. I see the different channels recently. I just dont see where there has been much benefit from this merger. If there is any benefit it must be 100% in there favor for Increased Revenue. The Fed Govt would not let The Dish Network and Direct TV merge yet it was OK for XM and Sirius to merge. I still have not figured this out. I got my 09 Corvette in Sept. They have called me 4 times now on signing up after the first 3 months. 4 times I have told them the same thing in that the car will be in storage over the Winter til next spring. Every call starts out, Welcome to XM. Every time I respond I am not new to XM. I have been a customer for years. I will decide next spring if I remain an XM Customer on my 2 Corvettes and my Equinox. I sure hope someone from XM reads this stuff. They should be embarrassed. Paul....

It's definitely not what it used to be. If I don't get thee $77 deal again, I'll be gone.

For once in my life, I'm ahead of the curve. I dumped my subscriptions to XM two years ago. Part of the reason was constant billing and customer service problems, and part was due to the "screaming DJ's" on the 60's channel. In fact, XM even has that comment in the notes of my file in their computer system. Free radio and MP3's have been just fine for me since I cancelled.

I have the portable player and seldom use it in the Corvette. However I have had satellite radio since it was first introduced. I use the radio all the time in my daily driver (06 Honda Civic coupe with a 5 speed).....to make a long story short I love it. I do not want to spend the money having four vehicles equipped with satellite radio therefore I utilize the portable unit. I do not like any talking between songs. I am paying for the service and it makes me a little irate with any talking at all in between songs. The 05 has only 13,000 miles on it and it's not worth it for me to have this service in everything. I have the home unit and can play it through the stereo etc. too and we have outside speakers so we can listen to it in the hot tub also. I pay one time per year and I believe its somewhere around $130.00 give or take $10.00.

I'm on my free 3 month trial.....what is the "$77 deal"?
how much will they negotiate with you?...really not much info on the website for yearly/lifetime deals.
