And the best for less than a C-note.

I had mine done a couple of months ago. Cost me $80. He put black vinyl over the dots. Took about an hour. No problems, looks great.

Good installers can do it. Amateurs will fail on the C5 / C6 rear hatch tint jobs. I would go with the summertime install recc. A day or 2 after the install, take a small, hard rubber ball and roll it around the dot area to press the tint down. Repeat for 2 or 3 days.

I have had two Corvettes done. My installer said the C-5 and C-6 rear hatch is the most difficult install that they do. In fact the owner does them himself because of the degree of difficulty. Doesn't Texas have a window tint law? My daughter has been warned several time on her tint by the Dallas Police.

Yes...35% on the driver and passenger windows, anything else is fair game. Inspection stations only inspect side windows for the 35%

I had a Black out kit done on the dot matrix as well, its a VERY thin vinal that is thiner than the tint itself. they do that and the tint. also the back hatches are a pain, but if the installer knows how to "mold" the tint, then it will fit great. just got mine done

I went to visit Lynn in Weatherford (just west of Ft. Worth.) The guy took me today - Sunday and 3 hrs later it was done. Perfect. He has some tricks up his sleeve for the dot matrix on the rear. Well worth my time, the effort, mileage on the Z and the cost was fair. If you live within 750 miles and you don’t visit him for this, you do yourself a disservice. Thank you Lynn. Default Corvettes of Dallas can help

If by chance you ever come up to the Dallas area -- Corvettes of Dallas will gladly help.
The gentleman we use does 10-15 Corvettes for us each month. No problem here -- and yes it is a tedious task to do the back window. Please call me if we can offer any assistance.
Todd
