if you are looking at the Kumhos get the SPTs.

the MX and XS are not very good in the wet.

equally as important - find someone that will install them FIRST. Most tire places (tire kingdom, firestone, goodyear, or dealer) will not install non-runflats on a C6 vette. They claim it is a liabilty. I had to have mine (I went with Nitto envos, see my post for reviews http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...r-hate-em.html) drop shipped and installed by a small local shop and sign a waiver release

I use discount tire and currently have the Kumho SPT non runflats. Overall I am happy with the tires.

I just put on the Kumho's on my Z51. I'm not real fond of them at this time. It feels like the car is wandering and I suspect its due to the sidewalls being a lot less stiff. Yeah, they're a lot cheaper which is why I went with them but.... On my '99, I used GY D-3's and those were great! Just wish I could get them for this car. Supposedly the GY-G2's are pretty good. Now the Pilot ZP's look nice and sound nice but even at Costco, they're $532 each for the rears. That's a bunch.

Interestingly I just made the same decision (on my C5). I'm replacing a set of 27 mo. old Nitto's. I'm down to 5/32nds at 18K miles. They are a quiet tire and stick well on dry (not great in the wet). 5/32's get's scary in a downpour! If you've ever hydroplaned it's unbelievable. You're just along for the ride! I've decided to try the Kumho's. In fact they're being installed Weds. These are non runflat ASX's. My tire guy is replacing all 4 pressure sensors that are dying at the same time.

I was in this same situation a few months ago. I ended up with the Kumhos and I am very happy with my decision. One thing to consider between Nitto Invos and Kunho SPTs, The Nittos are rotatable for the front and back (ie. left to right) and might make them last longer for tread wear. The Kumhos are unidirectional, which means no tire rotation is possible, but they cost less. Something to think about.

I get MUCH better traction and control on the Kumhos versus runflats though.

I posted in here earlier that I wasn't happy with the Kumhos at this time, but today I ran it up in our mountains here and found them to be very suitable for those roads, no squealing and lots of traction so the wandering I've been feeling is freeways only. Its probably caused due to alignment which was maximized for tire life. I will say it again, they worked real nice today up in the mountains here and S. Calif mountains are indeed something to talk about!

Did you overinflate it by any chance??? I overinflated my dunlop to 36PSI on my other car and it was wandering all over the place.

I had the Kumhos (Run Flat) on my 99 C5 and loved them. I tried and get them for my 2005 C6 and my guy said they did not make the one size at the time. Good luck.

Actually they're a bit under-inflated but just barely. Its probably the alignment.

Yeah that'll kill your handling. The local tire guys I use tell me that when they set the alignment for maximum life for the Joe Shmoes who bring their cars in, they aim for 0 camber. I can't even imagine running that.
