I owned a 56 Copper/Cream insets. 265 CU, twin carbs, Removable hard top.

1954, 6cyl, 2 speed auto. owned for 31 years. Doors leaked, could not sit upright with top up, no brakes, no power. Sold it and bought C6. Have put 26,000 smiles this year, more then I put on the C1 the entire time I owned it.

I bought a 1959, Roman Red with Snowcrest White coves and a red interior. It had both tops and was complete, without a motor or trans in it. It came with a non-running 1965 Chevelle SS that was in great shape. I bought both of the cars for $350 in 1974. I gave the Chevelle to a friend of mine for helping me tow the 1959 Vette to my house and tow the Chevelle to his home. The seller was being evicted from a old farm house in Salinas CA. and had to get the cars off the property a.s.a.p. The Vette started life with a 283 ci. and a 4 speed and I put a built 327 ci. and a M-21 in it. I still love to see restored, red 59s, but I would not want to own one, been there, done that. I do like to collect old Vettes though, I own many C1s, C2s, 2 C3s, only 1 C4 because I don't like them, I have a C5 coupe and a C5 ZO6, and 1 C6 coupe. They are all in perfect condition and parked in their own, clear, 1/18 size garage.
