Dryer sheets and mice
Read on the CF tips for winterizing your Vett and that leaving clothes dryer sheets around and in the car would help keep mice away. I have a cabin in Michigan's U.P. and tried it around the kitchen, putting the sheets in the silverware drawers etc. since we have always had mouse problems in the fall. Went back up after 2 weeks.........unfortunately we had mouse droppings all over the drawers including ON the dryer sheets. If they have worked for you, great. However, just a heads up, not to depend on them exclusively, because they sure didn't work for me. Anyone have any other suggestions?

The dryer sheets will help to keep your interior smell fresh, but I don't think they'll help with mice. I put a couple of traps and some d-con pellet pouches in the interior and make sure my garage is clean and no food is present (bird food etc.) I put out more traps around the garage and hope for the best. I'm in northern Wisconsin, probably just south of you. I've never had a mouse problem in my garage or pole barn. Knock on wood. The new Vettes are sealed pretty good. I'd worry more about the motor compartment then the interior. Good luck and be sure you keep your comp coverage on just in case. I put my Vette to sleep Saturday, now the long wait till April 12 to get her going again.

Pepermint oil
I have read a few different places that Pepermint Oil works very well for keeping mice out of unwanted places. I plan on trying that this winter. You soak cotton ***** in the oil.
I have never had a mouse problem, but you can't be careful enough.

Put fresh peanut butter on a trap and if you have mice in your garage they'll find the trap. When the traps remain "mice free" you've cleared out the problem. Save the dryer tissues for your laundry room. Good luck.

"In honor of jpee"
I wonder if mice eat those little green solid bars of rodent poison? I've got them from Home Depot and spread them under the car.
I did think, however, that the dryer sheets worked. I presume, wrecks, you used the smelly kind, not the unscented variety.
Oh well, another myth shot down. Guess I can get rid of my el cheapo no name dryer sheets that smell like hell if you ask me. I only keep 'em in the garage they smell so much.

Did you have any mosquitoes in your car?
I never heard of it for mice, but placing a dryer sheet in your pocket supposedly will keep the mosquitoes away. Hope that Rick Conti knows about that trick if he wants to go outside during the summer in the Badgerland.
