How do I get gear displayed on DIC with my A6?
I see a lot of pictures with the DIC displaying which gear the car is in, but I can't figure out how to get it displayed on there. I have a 2006 A6. Any ideas? Thanks!
It does display it in the HUD... fyi.

It will only display on the DIC if you don't have the HUD. And with an A6, it will only display if you're using the paddles.

So because I have the HUD, it won't ever come up on my DIC? I use the paddles almost exclusively, and I have never been able to get it to come up on the DIC. I have clicked through every button on the right. The reason I want it is because I like the directions on the HUD for the NAV, but when they pop up I can't see what gear I am in... so I would like to be able to look down at the DIC when my HUD is not showing the gear.

If your NAV route guidance is active and showing data on your HUD, and you are in the Sport mode using your paddle shifters, your gear will be indicated in you DIC.

My error. There may be a way to get it to show on the DIC if you have the Nav (see a post above). Obviously, I don't have the Nav. Supposedly, if you don't have the Nav, it will only show up on the DIC if you also don't have the HUD.

I have a NAV and a HUD EVER and it only shows up when the NAV is showing something on the HUD. Personnally I think it should show on the HUD all the time regardless if you are using the paddle shifters or not.

It probably will work only in the Track mode.
Just like the radio stations can be seen in the HUD only in street mode.
I have a MN6 so I'm just guessing with the A6.

Check with the Corvette Museum. I had a question on the lateral G recall and they transferred me dirrectly to the factory and my question was answered.

Anyway,....While using your paddles in the sport mode, you will normally see your gear selection on the HUD if you have selected the HUD mode and page for the display. If you are actively using your Nav also, when the Nav indicates a turn, the turn will be displayed on the HUD and the gear selection reverts to the DIC. As soon as you make your turn according to the NAV, the gear selection will then revert back to the HUD.
Hope this helps...

When I use the paddle shift in any mode other then the standard (Competition, Traction off, etc..) the gears disappear on my DIC. If you push the button in the photo below, the gears will reappear. This button also works if you have your seat belt unbuckled and you want it to stop beeping. Sorry for the photo but I don't know the proper name for the button.

It has been a bit elusive for me too, but it does show on ocassion. There may be other ways for it to show in the DIC, but for me, it seems I have to actually have a guidance route "working" not just viewing the NAV. Also has to be in Street mode on the HUD.
I would be very interested in other ways to make it apppear in the DIC
