Default Window tinting

This topic may have already been discussed, and if so, I apologize. The 2009 C6 owners’ manual states that window tinting should not be applied as it may interfere with the navigation system. I am considering window tinting, but before I do, I would like confirmation that doing so will not result in a problem. Any thoughts on this subject?

..stay away from metallic tint and you should be fine. Mine is tinted and I have NAV. No issues yet.

I believe the NAV/GPS antenna is in the outside mirrors so it shoud't affect GPS reception.

Roger that. Now to find a place to do it. I went to a few auto tint places and they all said they don't do Vettes ----- rear window too tough for them. Hmmmm, interesting.

the back window can be a big PITA even for experienced tinters. It took mine 2 tries to get it right and he's done a ton of Vettes.

My experienced tinter told me he has problems with the dot-matrix at the top of the rear window. Anyone have experience with this??

Sorry, but...

The XM antenna is in the outside mirrors (except on the '05s). The Nav GPS antenna is up under the dash.

I think anyone that's gotten the back window done has had to deal with it. It's tough and mine did the best he could with it but it's not 100%. The area closest to the top of the window(closest to the driver) seems to be the toughest part.
