Sorry about the accident. Things happen. Your insurance will fix it, it'll be good as new.... I'm awaiting parts after hitting an armadillo two weeks ago today (Friday).

Check the widebody kit. I seriously doubt that it will be totalled. Check out Iridelow(I think that is username) I think it was his that was hurt pretty bad and it is one of the sickest ones I have seen since it was fixed. I think he put the Z body kit on it and it is nice. If it is not his, I apologize profusely !
Dont worry about it, it can be fixed perfectly. I nearly hit my garage backing in tonight. IT was close !!!

At least your okay. Accidents happen to everyone. Hopefully they total it. Someone will rebuild and sell it and the new owner will probably be on the forum in the future.
Those 2 dudes in the guys avatar above my post are real creepy and very scary.

Sorry to hear that, it happens though and as long as you're alright that's what matters. The car would have to have some really serious damage to be totalled.

I'm very sorry to hear this, but fortunately you (and hopefully the other guy/gal is OK), and that's really all that matters in the end. It doesn't sound like it will be "totaled", but pictures would certainly help us determine this.
From what I understand, whenever you hit someone in the rear the law/insurance companies basically view that as your mistake because you were traveling too close behind for it to be safe. If someone slams on their brakes basically anywhere, and you hit them it's your fault. Perhaps this will be a hard learned lesson not to tailgate or follow too closely. Basically, be prepared to come to a full complete stop if someone ahead of you slams on their brakes for whatever reasons (kid chasing ball in the middle of the road, deer, squirrel, or heck even if the person thought they saw a ghost; it doesn't really matter, LOL). If you can't stop in time, you're following too closely.

In your favor you're honest about how it happened. I really dislike these yield signs, esp. when someone's in front of me. Hard to watch for oncoming, time it, slow down and NOT hit the guy in front -- not knowing what he's gonna do. Sorry about your car. Glad you're both ok.

Unless you've got about $30k in damages it'll be fixed. Don't worry though, it's a new car so paint fade is minimal and it's black which can be matched pretty easily.
Good luck with the repairs!

A neighbor of mine used to have his own body and paint shop....He said he loved working on Corvettes. No tin to mess with....just slap a new piece of fiberglass on it and it's as good as new. A good paint shop can make the paint match. Don't worry....

Been there, done that. Mine was totaled last July when a lady came thru a red light and we hit in the center of the intersection at 40 mph. That's the kind of hit it takes to total one of these cars. $33K damage. At least in my case she was 100% at fault and there were no injuries. Show some pics.
