Depressed. I read this forum and all I see is people whinning about what my car is worth, etc. etc. If you have the fortune of owning and driving a machine of such pleasure you should enjoy it and feel blessed. Lets hear about the fun. ( spread the word )

Maybe you're just not reading enough posts.
I recently changed my personalized tag to "PUREFUN."
EDIT: I just did a count and out of the 70 thread titles on Page 1, only 4 were threads complaining about their car. That's 4/70 = 5.7%.

I never worry too much about worth... it depreciates the moment you buy it...its not an investment...never saw it as one from the 8 Ive owned...... its a hobby for me as long as I can afford it... I keep it at that... I know I will lose money on each I buy and 75% of the mods I buy for it .... yes I hope you dont lose more than you have to.. but if it is...so be it.... many people gamble, play golf, buy boats etc.... you gotta have something to have fun in this crazy world... my vette is my fun... I try and leave it at that and enjoy it...

I love my vette. I love the way it looks standing still, and I love the way it looks going down the road. I love the way it sounds when I start and when I get on it. I really love the way it throws me back in my seat whan I dump and punch. I love working on, modding and personalizing my vette, I think that is one of the real underrated joys of owning one of these cars. I feel fortunate to be in a position to experience something 'material' that isn't overly excessive ($$), isn't damaging to me (drugs), gives me pleasure and makes me happy. I (and I am sure many of you) have a lot of preassures and stress in your lives. Here, in a car for heaven's sake, is a healthy outlet, a means to take your mind off the stress and focus on something nice, fun, enjoyable. I picture the top off, wailing through some twisties north of town with Led Zepplin cranked up. This isn't an investment, or a $$ value based decision to own one of these cars. It's a Quality Of Life Decision. My Gramps used to say that a Quality Of Life Decision should be the easiest decision to make. There you have it, from your friendly uncle Bear.
