Should I trade my '05 Coupe for a '04 CTS-V Supercharged 500hp?
This guy has a '04 CTS-V; 52k miles- with a Magnuson supercharger ($10,000.00 to install), also has Kooks long tube headers and high flow exhaust. Its got about $13k in upgrades.
He wants to sell it outright for $26,000. I believe the Blue Book value of his car is just under $22,000.
You can buy '05 CTS-V's with 100,000 warranty for $24,500!
What's his car worth?

I was looking at CTS-Vs before I bought the Vette. I sat down at one point to try to make a deal but the dealer wouldn't budge so I walked. I really liked the car.
Anyways, the rear end on CTS-Vs is notorious for going "boom". Adding 150 hp means the rear end is certainly living on borrowed time.
Even with the blower that car is probably about the same speed as a bolt-on C6.
The reason I didn't buy one was for the following reasons.
1) New CTS body style already out...so it's an "old" car.
2) Heavy car, so it won't respond to mods as well.
3) Rear end....I didn't want the headache(s).
As for price....26k for a car like that is a good deal as the car stickered for 52k. The guy put another 10k into it and now it's a low 12 car. However, 52k is a lot of miles.............
Good luck with that decision............

Then move to Florida, buy a pair of white shoes and get on line for the early bird special at the buffet!
It's a 4 door Cadillac no matter what motor or mods you put in it. Leave the Caddy's to the seniors.
(Just kidding)

Sounds like a good price to me. I sold my '04 CTS-V, in April, for $26k. It had 31k miles on it.
Have you driven the car? If so, did you hear any rear end whine? If so, factor that in to the cost of the car. I had my differential replaced under warranty after it developed differential whine.
My CTS-V was a great car, but I prefer the C6.

I would not do it unless you really need a car with a back seat, but then there are still better choices. The car you speak of has too many miles on it for me, and I rather not buy something that has been modified to that extent. You really do not know how it will hold up and how much it has been beaten on. So I would pass on it.

I guess it all depends on what you're looking for in a car. I seldom buy used cars but I think I'd shy away from one with 52K on the odometer. You want more power, a plush interior? It's not difficult to do with your Corvette. I'd rather be driving a Corvette.

I thought the CTS-V was for people who needed to carry more than two people and wanted a powerful car. Unless you fit that category, I would say no.

Like any of these used hot rods, depends on how the previous owner(s) treated the car. I always have friends & relatives standing in line for my rides cause they know I enjoy them but don't beat them. I usually "ease" into the throttle(like flying an airplane) & even when I bring the throttle on quickly I push it smoothly down, not "slam" it to the floor. No "hole shots", "power shifts" & so on. If the person you are buying from operated in a similar manner & you trust that they are forthright about any significant problems as mentioned by others & you need the rear seat, doesn't sound like a bad deal although the miles are little high. Good luck, either car is a fun machine.
