That car looks great!!! Love the Z06 conversion on verts!
Here's a picture of one we did for a customer of ours...looks just like yours.

To me, this is the only reason to do a widebody transformation...that or a vert widebody. By going with the Z06, you not only get the full widebody but upgraded brakes, lighter aluminum chassis, carbon fibre hood, the LS7, bigger exhaust and more. So, for marginally more than the cost of doing a full widebody, you get the widebody and real performance upgrades. Plus, with the Z06, you will increase your resale value compared to a base model with a widebody.
Now if you happen to have a fender bender and need body work anyway, the widebody conversion may make more sense.

I personally would not do it. If I am going to modify a car, I want it to look unique and custom. I certianly would not spend an extra 14-15K to make it look like a fairly common Z06...
I also think trading for a used Z06 would make more sense if that is what you really want.

No regrets in having commissioned the making of a complete wide-bodied forgery. Personally have the pleasure to enjoy both with the convertible better suited in satisfying personal measures.
If you decide to undergo this modification given the financial consideration, and apart from making certain your expectations are clearly known prior to enlisting any services, understand that a quality shop with seasoned/skilled painters is crucial in qualifying a fit & finish worth admiring without regret.
This forum despite all its yeas and nays, as pertaining to this particular, does serve as a marvelous repository. Engage it extensively in your [re]searches.
Moreover keep in mind that most of the unhappiness in life are of thoughts neither said nor done... so do what’ll make you happy!

Thanks for the compliment. Your work, however photographically appearing, seems of fine workmanship. Very nice job. Panels all GM?

I don't see where the huge numbers are coming from either. I did my rear wide body for about $2000.00. I did it myself, had a friend that owns a body shop paint the quarters. I was going to do tires and wheels anyway (as I do on all my vehicles).
My wife refused to drive my C5 Z06 because of the MN6. So now I have a C6 with removeable top and A6 that rips 2nd gear rubber that my wife enjoys also.
Where is the downside?

Just great guys, thanks a lot, now there is another thing I get to put on my must do mod list!! Rear only looks really good and for around $2K it's even better.

Heads or tails.... It's your call. All I can say is, I would not trade my 05 Widebody for a brand new one unless it was a Z06. Now that I have a full widebody, I have learned to appreciate the "looks" of the whole body on the Z06 "conversion", body wise that is. When my car is parked next to a C6, there's no question in my mind...which one looks better! I'm spoiled now...Widebody or Z06, I will never be able to go back to "regular c6'!!!

i was considering a widebody for my 08. getting the "kit" from gene, having the panels painted and buying a set of used OEM or new repro wheels and tires, i was figuring about $10K for the conversion. so here is a pic of my "widebody"...
found this clean, 42K mile, steel blue over blue, 90 for less than the conversion price. i needed a driver anyway...
