Millennium or Velocity Yellow????
Can someone tell me with 100% certainty if my vehicle is millennium or velocity yellow. It is a 2005 C6 Coupe as you can see in the picture. I have been told you can check a code in the glove box, but there are so many. The only one that stands by itself is 423G, but I can't tell if that is it and which version of yellow it is. Depending on the way the sun hits it, sometimes it looks like millennium and sometimes it looks like velocity. Thanks for your help.

The only 100% I can tell you is to call the dealer and ask. Give them your VIN or your codes and they can confirm. I know there were only a few months in 05 that were MY and the rest are VY. Hope that helps.

No, I know for a fact they made both yellows for the 2005 C6.

My paint code is 423G it was made at another plant than yours.

When was you car built? earlyier then MArch was MY.. i had one and made the deadline..They Started the VY After March 06...look on your Driver door..

That's incorrect. Millenium Yellow was produced from the start of the 2005 model year until May of 2005. Velocity while introduced as a 2006 color was produced in May and June of 2005 for the 2005 model year.
There were 760 Velocity Yellow Corvettes produced as 2005 model year cars. (359 coupes and 401 convertibles)

They had plenty of Millenium Yellow Paint at the start of 05 production. Eventually ran out and switched to Velocity. They almost made it to end of 05 production but ran out in about March 05(4 months too soon.)
There are were over 1000 Millenium Coupes/Verts in 05. more common than an 05 Velocity Vette.

It's interesting, V.Y. was intended for 06 production but was pulled foward because of the high demand for Yellow.

This just in from General Motors:
"Due to an unanticipated surge in demand both Magnetic Red (86U) and
Millennium Yellow (79U) are now completely built out for the 2005 model
year. Therefore, no additional orders with either 86U or 79U are able to
be selected for production. As a result of this situation both colors will
necessarily be constrained to ZERO for this and future DOSP cycles.
The 2006 model year replacements for Magnetic Red and Millennium Yellow will be pulled forward and made available for 2005 Corvettes in the near future. For your planning purposes specifics regarding these replacement colors and the timing of their availability should be communicated within the next week."
