Default Picked up a new 2012 GS yesterday

Been out of a vette for a while, went the Ford route for a couple years with a GT500 and TVS 5.0 auto GT plus a newer M3. I really liked my old '08 Z51 2lt and was going to to buy another regular coupe but the GS is a great looking car and I couldnt resist. I'm not going to drag or road race the car so I bought this one just for cruiser and looker.

Went the classic 'Vette color combo on this one, Torch Red, M6, black interior and chrome wheels. Picked it up yesterday and drove it home home 520 miles and got stuck in some nasty rain, two major highway closures/detours, one accident and one construction. 520 miles took me 11 hours so I got a chance to get the know car pretty fast.

Special thanks to Mike at Criswell Chevy, great deal on the car, good money for my trade and no BS when I got there. Didn't have to go back and forth 20 times to get a good price, two e-mails and we were done and I was very happy with the deal.

Couple pics, love the car. I was going to wait for the C7 but I just love the looks of these GS Corvettes, hard to beat the deals out there as well right now.

Very nice !!!!

May I ask why you did not like the GT 500? I currently own a 2008 Z51 and have 3 kids. Lately I have been thinking about a car with 4 seats so I can haul more than one around and really like the GT 500.

Thank & many happy miles in the GS !

I had a 2010 GT500 coupe, I liked it, but I had transmission/clutch issues, rear end had problems, fuel pump died and I just didnt trust the car. Plus it was just had too many stripes and emblems for me. Was able to get out of it OK and picked up a regular 2011 GT auto and put a Roush/TVS blower on it and the car was nicer than the GT500 IMO. It ran 10,70 @ 132 with the strock torque converter, exhaust and drag radials on 93 octane. Daily drove it for two years and really liked the car but got bored with it and it was Corvette time again.

I have two kids, 8 and 12, and we took a couple 500+ mile trips with the GT500 and the auto GT. The 2013 GT500 is going to be wicked, but to be honest for that kind of money you can keep your Vette and buy a more practical car/suv to haul the kids around.

Problem with the manual GT500 is if you are tall, I'm 6'3, having someone in back seat behind me not very comfortable. With the auto it made driving with four people more enjoyable, keep that in mind when shopping if you are only going to have one car.
