Default Bill Heard Chevrolet's "Dealer Market Adjustment"....and Cyber Grey pics inside!

So I went over there today, Sunday, while they were closed. I used to be a car salesman and I understand how much of a pain in the *** it is for the customer and the sales department when people just come to snoop around when they are open.....anywho.....I knew they had a Cyber Grey coupe in stock and HAD to see one in person.

perrrrrrrty sweet. it really does have blue flakes in the paint. sadly it was very similar to the "slate metallic" paint color on the Cobalt parked close by". They also had a Blade Silver Z06 (see price below) and 2 blade coupes. I have to say I really like the color. It is a very bright Silver that contrasts well with the Z06's trim.

So how much is this LOADED 4LT coupe?

what is that? $76k? really? $10,000 Dealer Market Adjustment? REALLY? $1700 Protection Package? REALLY?!?!?!

Not only that, it was the same on EVERY coupe and vert!

So, what about their Z06's?

thats a $115k Z06 with a $30,000 Dealer Market Adjustment!!!!!! WHAT THE MOTHER****? What "market" are these guys adjusting to?

I mean I've heard some shady practices by the Bill Heard dealerships, but seriously! Same deal on all 08's and 09's they had in stock!

I want to go back when they are open and ask them what the markup is on the ZR1.

Being a former car salesman, it is common practice to not discount a certain car much because of the price it can pull, but the is just plain bull****.

Anyone ever dealt with this dealer? The one in Sugar Land, TX.

That's funny....the dealer market adjustment. I wonder if there are people out there who would actually pay that..

I'm not crazy about the cyber gray.

Maybe I'll have to see a few more to get use to it?!?

Wow, this is why I will never buy another car from a "dealer". Maybe some time when they are nearly broke they will treat people correctly. But, too late for me, I will buy all my future cars online from forum dealers.

Google "Bill Heard +negative" and you'll be stunned at what you'll read. I had dropped one of their locations a line about an '07 that they had before I bought mine. After I read all the absolutely unbelievable postings regarding their scads of illegal practices, I wrote back to them saying no thanks and included the links.

Now, that is just plain NUTS!! Maybe he is hoping that someone will confuse the ZO6 for a ZR1 and think its a deal. Never in my life have I seen market adjustments like that..........even if the market were strong right now --- Jeesh!
Kinda reminds me of the little kid selling lemonade for $1,000.00 a glass at the curbside. Someone stopped and said, you are not going to sell many at that price.......and the kid said..."Mister, I only need to sell one!"

Crazy for sure, but even more crazy is someone will pay it, not likely a forum member but someone.

I contacted a forum dealer about a Wil Cooksey before they came out. He wanted 5K over MSRP!! I bought one right after they came out for 4K under Msrp. They can be bought for less than that if you look hard enough. Just because they are a "Forum dealer" doesn't mean the price is lower with them.

The cyber grey looks good on the Z06, but, just doesn't get it on a stock C6. Why, I don't have a clue. Bill Heard Chev was run out of Nashville from all the bad publicity, law suits, and investigations. Unfortunately, I hear the new owner, AutoFair Chev, isn't any better?

I was thinking the same, not feeling the gray at all.

Seems most all Florida dealers are the same way with insane prices.

Yep. Bill turd has been listing Zs at +30K since they first came out. I don't know if they are still selling any for that or not. I have been to that dealership and can attest to their idiocy. Service dept sucks as well.

Let them keep doing what they are doing. One year from now, they will be taking up space on the lot with no buyers...

Yes, Bill Heard (they also own the Landmark Dealers) are WELL known for unethical to illegal business practices. They were even a front page article in the Wall Street Journal a number of years ago regarding business practices that the WSJ said "would be illegal in many states".

What is equally bad is that GM has to be well aware of it and elects to do nothing. For fun, run a BBB on Landmark in Houston.
