Since you are in CA. check out the dealer section here and see what Tim at Boardwalk has in stock, 2008s or 2009s for GMS + $399. There is about a $1000 difference between a 2008 and 2009 coupe, for a $1000 get the 2009.

I'm a new guy, so not too sure how valid my opinion is amongst the veterans, but when I was buying (less than a month ago) I went through the EXACT same situation. The 2008's were sitting there, and I was contemplating ordering mine. I had intent to order an '09 since the features I wanted were very hard to come by off the lot (MN6, F55, 3LT, and NO chrome rims). I found one in Temecula that was 3 hours away and a couple on the forum dealers sites. Prior to buying the dealer was able to provide me a cost within $1000 of the forum dealers, but because of freighting the car, the forum dealer cost equaled $1000. As a result, I went down to Temecula to wheel and deal. Ended up with $10k off MSRP! Holy crap! How could I say no at that point.
The 2009 battle ended right there for me, but based off of the feature list, there seemed no reason to pay $1000 for bluetooth. No thanks.
Good luck either way, as it seems like the cost difference is forgettable. Go off of features, convenience, and instinct on this one! (If the color is even right, it was in the stars!)
Have fun!

Full 2009 production resumes 7/14. Soon, you'll be seeing 2009 C6's on dealer lots. That means the 2008 gets hit with one year of instant depreciation compared to the 2009. That alone is worth over $5,000.
At this point it's really a matter of simple economics. If you're offered a deal on a leftover 2008 that more than offsets the depreciation, by all means go for it. Otherwise, the better retained value of the 2009 becomes the smarter choice.
For me, the Cyber Gray and variable ratio steering made the 2009 an easy choice. I also found very little difference in actual pricing between the 2008 and the 2009.

Hey, I'm a dumass Phillieagles fan too! Go figure. Get the 09. If they're offering a good deal on one,you won't regret it. By the way, why would anyone want to drive their vette in the snow??

It really boils down to how long you are going to keep the car. If you plan on keeping it 7 or 10 years the difference in depreciation is negligible. If you are going to turn it around in 3 years go with the 09. One suggestion I would make would be to look on the door and see what month it was built if your going with the 08. Could be a month or a almost a year old. Negotiation chip.

Since you're trading an '07 you're a trader so DEFINITELY get the '09 since the difference in trade in 2 years from now will easily be more than the difference in price now.

Usually pro the latest model for a couple of reasons. One is to take advantage of the latest technology and two, hopefully more bugs have been worked out.

I guess I should have figured that out with your ID. Tim @ Boardwalk isn't too far away from you though.
Phillies haven't been doing that great lately but definitely an improvement for about the last decade or so. I lived in Philly when they won the championship (Crap I just gave up my age).

it all comes to dollars
I have no trade in, getting new one because of an accident.
If I can get an 09 within 3K of an 08, will go with the 09. Otherwise, what I have learned of the 09, it is not worth more than that differance to me. Who needs bluetooth anyway for that price.
Also, I do not like the idea of a new car shipped to me. I want to see it, smell it and drive before I buy!
You Forum people are good at bouncing vette questions around..... Kind of like a panel of expert advisors....

After several quotes from Forum dealers, it seems the difference in price between a "on the lot" 08 and a "ordered" 09 is about $800 to about $1600 for the identical car. At this point, the deals do seem to be on the 09's if your interested in the new colors.

If the price is close, go for the '09 for sure...the changes between '08 and '09 were not that significant.
If you get an absolutely smoking deal on a '08 (which you should be able to since there's something like 8,000 of them on dealers lots) I'd go for it......"take the $ and run".

If that's all the difference I would definately go with the 09. It would take 3k or more to make me want to go the 08 route.
