CAT to Nova Scotia
Just wondering if anyone has taken their C6 from either Portland or Bar Harbor, Maine to Halifax, NS via the high speed CAT? (That's a boat in case you didn't know ) If so are there any clearance problems getting aboard or parking? Want to go but it's a helluva long way by land, even in the Vette.

I had my C6 on the CAT from Bar Harbor in 2005.
No problems at all, clearance or otherwise.
Don't miss Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. http://www.town.lunenburg.ns.ca/
It may have been the highlight of our trip. It's very picturesque and has several excellent restaurants.

Well worth the trip!
I live in Halifax and have been thinking about making the trip in the opposite direction. Lunenberg is great, so is Halifax, but for a spectacular drive it's the Cabot Trail in the northern end of the province (Cape Breton). Incredible ocean views, friendly people, natual beuty and very affordable even with the dollar at par. Drop me a line if you need more details or go to our tourism site for for a list of Bed and Breakfasts, golf courses, hotels etc

I lived in Maine for 25 years and am very familiar with both the CAT and the the Long Way Around. Don't ever take the long way around through New Brunswick.
The CAT is fine and you will have no problems.
The long way around can be exceedingly slow through the woods and filled with tons of bugs that are hard to clean off the C6. Lots of long and winding roads and the occasional errant critter in the road. Moose are unlikely in the day during summer but are totally fearless. Lots of other animals that won't clear the air dam.
On the CAT you can marvel at the large wake it creates and, in the old days, might have seen a fisherman swamped.
Make a reservation--Bar Harbor best--and don't be late unless the Long Way Around is OK. Bring your insurance card.
The Cape Breton trip is another matter and is worth the bugs.

I just took a 7500 mile trip in my Impala SS. Acadia NP in Maine was the eastern point. Someday I plan on spending more time in Maine and travel to the eastern provinces.
