Default Need some input on leaf blower to dry car

Hey guys I've been using my electric leaf blower to help remove some of the water from my car but thinking about buying a cordless one. I don't want to go to alot of expense as it will only be used for that purpose,,I was wondering if anyone has this model and if so how it works for you,,also if anyone knows of any similar priced ones could you let me know,,,thanks.

I've got one of those, same model, and I really like it. Mine is almost 2 years old. In addition to using mine to blow the pollen off of my C6 (sits in a carport), I also use it to clean off my 50' walkway from the house to the street.

Only minor thing I dislike about it is that it takes several hours to recharge the battery. However, since you get an extra battery with it, that's no big deal.

I've not ever used it to dry off the car after a wash because I use the spotless rinse at the do-it-yourself car wash and I let it dry naturally.

Was looking at the Amazon description and didn't see that. Was that a special promotion or do they al come with two batteries?

Thanx...

It's the easiest way to prevent swirls and get all of the water out of all of the trouble areas (rear lights, mirrors).

Yeah mate, my friend has had 2 'Vettes and used a blower on both, he swore by them.

I tried it myself and it works like a charm! Screw towel drying, lol.

Default Don't make mistake I did once...

In case any of you who read this don't think about it before hand, DON'T do what I did first time and use a gasoline powered leaf blower! It spit little specks of exhaust oil all over everything and I had to start over. Electric now, no more gasoline powered for me.

I've been using one to blow-dry my cars after washing for several years now and it works great. I also use the Mr. Clean Auto-Dry System. Between the two, my cars are completely swirl and spiderweb free.

Thanks for the replies guys,,Lowes also has that model for $78.00,,I think I'd rather buy it locally in case it doesn't work that well, instead of buying from Amazon in case it goes back.

Not only with the Vette, but all of our other cars as well

It is just another great tip I have picked up over the years on this forum.

There's another product called the "Blaster" that has a filter, so no dust or dirt particles can mar your paint. Many motorcycle owners use that instead of a dirty leaf blower.

I started using a leaf blower about a year ago. There is no better way. I blows the water out of the mirrors and tail lights. I like the cordless idea.

I read the detailed description in the Amazon ad and there's no indication of a 2nd battery. However, when I bought mine from Lowe's in September of 2006, it came with a charger and 2 batteries.

The local Lowe's has one, but I don't remember the price. I'm pretty sure it was less than $100. I'm going to Lowe's in about 10 minutes for some things I need. I'll report back on their price and how many batteries come with it now.

The instruction book for mine says the first time, the batteries require a 9-hour charge. Thereafter, the batteries require 3 to 6 hours to charge, depending on how much use they've had.

Does anybody feel there is a lack of power in cordless vs. electric? There are two Toro available I bought the lesser powered and I am going to buy the most powered, unless corless is as powerful.

Personally I'd rather have corded. When the battery dies (which they all do in a few years) it is usually cheaper to buy a whole new unit than to get a replacement battery. A corded unit will last 50 years with minor repairs if you don't abuse it.
