My dad just went from a 2006 to a 2008, he say it's like night and day. Obviously the 2008 has the ls3, but it also has improvements like a short-shifter, bluetooth, and a couple of other things that I can't quite remember. Go with the 2008, you never know what type of beating the 2006 took. 2008 all the way!

Edit: If your thinking about getting the NPP, just go with an aftermarket exhaust if you want a louder exhaust note.
