C6Rs at ALMS Long Beach
I had the opportunity to see the C6R team at Long Beach today. I thought it would be a good way of showing my younger son (6) why Corvettes are sooo coool.
But I gotta say that I was stunned by those cars. They were amazing. Much faster in person then the impression on TV. And the sound they make is like....thunder. Its' unlike any car I have ever heard. I have heard folks rave about the sound of Ferraris. But even the Ferrari folks sitting around us in the stands were blown away by the sound of the C6Rs. It was also so cool to see these American made cars lap far more expensive "super cars".
If you ever get a chance to see these cars, take it...

they had one at the california speedway nascar race last year in the chevy display. They fired it up just to drive it onto the hauler, and I had to stop and watch. It sounded that good

I've been to a few NASCAR races in the past couple of years. They are definitely ear-splitting. But I thought the C6Rs sounded much better. They seem to have a lower pitch. I told my 6 year old we were gonna go home and take the mufflers off the car. He said "Dad, I dont think mom will like that very much!"...

I was lucky enough to hear them racing at LeMans, and they are truly awe- inspiring, earth-shaking.
I've heard lots of cars, but these take the cake!

Back in my corner working days we called cars like the C6R "Ground Pounders" because you could feel them as well as hearing them... The ground shook when a pack went by together.

I was there. My first time got the cherry popped .I enjoyed every minuite of it. I did not expect for the C6R's to be that LOUD. It was funny because if you looked away you can't mistake the Corvettes oh no. On TV they talked about how quiet the Audi's were, yes they are quiet they sound like a stock four banger going down the road and the Corvette sound like a top fuel dragster.
