Question while installing iPod GM Lockpick
I received my Lockpick and I am wondering if it is 100% plug and play?
I have my radio out, that's as far as I got.
In the pic below, the 3 cords on the top are to the Lockpic iPod adapter.
Lower left is a plugin to the GM radio, and then the lower right is another factory plugin to the radio.
I assumed I would unplug the grey/ black plugin on the back lower left, plug in the Lockpick, then plugin what was factory GM to the lockpick and piggyback... But I can't match them up, I am sure I am overlooking something.
Thanks,
Shane

That looks like the connection on my Spec USA unit and it uses the XM module on the drivers side rear fender.(Coupe)

On the Lockpic website it says for Non XM cars it pluggs into the back of the head unit...
"The GM ADVANCED IPOD LOCKPICK uses a simple “T” harness for installation using factory connectors so there is no need to cut/splice any wires, or locate power, ground and audio. The interface is truly
plug and play. If your vehicle has a factory XM tuner installed, the interface will plug in at the XM tuner location.
If you do not have an XM tuner, the interface harness will plug into the back of the radio.
The factory connectors
are individually keyed so you cannot plug them into the wrong location. The interface harness is specific to year
or model so insure that you have the correctly identified your vehicle by consulting the application guide or
pictures in this document before installation."

Any suggestions?

I'll wait to hear back from someone at Coastal Tech, but I think either I have the wrong plugin for my car, or I am putting it somewhere wrong on my radio. (It won't go right in on my factory 6 disc changer without XM)

I don't have XM, but I looked anyway. Nothing behind the carpet in the back rear fender...
I assumed it plugged into the back of the radio, but that isn't happening.

Not sure if you read my earlier post.... But I had problem with mine... Ended up removing it because of it draining my battery... Mine was a XM hookup... Hope you have better luck... I also called and sent emails... Got no response! That thing and a couple days @ a dealer cost me over $300. Ended up putting my DLO / FM transmitter back in. Dealer told me it would still draw 3 amps/hr after the car was shut off... result over night a dead battery... Oh I forgot the $100 plus I spent on a new Optima battery that I didn't need! I hope you have better luck than I did.

Yeah, I saw that thread just after I purchased my Lockpick... I will wait till Monday till they reopen and I will ask them if I have the correct plugin for a Corvette without XM and NAV or see what it is I am doing wrong...
I found a quick fix for this weekend. Much easier, no install.
Just frusterating taking the console Off then back on for nothing.

I have mine installed and it was simple, but I have XM. Plugged in right behind the waterfall (in my vert). You did get the Vette version? (they're different).

I was in the same boat as you with the lockpick. I actually sent it back for a refund since coastal e tech wouldn't give me any support, but you may need to have you dealer set up your DRR before it will work. That is what I am currently trying with a different product. Here is what PAC told me:
They have to reflash your computer to accept XM radio
The procedure is called :
DRR Set up
Basically consists of setting up the vehicle to accept a digital radio receiver.
For the Digital Radio Receiver, complete the following procedure with the key in the ON position, use a scan tool in order to properly set up communication:
1. At the Main Menu screen, select Diagnostics.
2. At the Vehicle Identification screen, select the following options:
3. Model Year
4. Vehicle Line
5. At the System Selection Menu screen, select Body.
6. At the Vehicle Identification screen, select the following:
7. Platform Type
8. Body Type
9. At the Body screen, select Digital Radio Receiver.
10. Select Special Functions.
11. At the Special Functions screen, select DRR Setup.
hope that helps

Yeah I don't have XM either. Setting up the DRR with the ipod adapter installed is supposed to fool the system into thinking you have XM so the XM1 and XM2 inputs will show up when you cycle through the bands
