Default Question for Gene Culley about UPF Bluetooth

Gene,

I'll bet a lot of Vette owners would like to have the new UPF 2009 option for bluetooth. It might be a bit early, but can you find out what is involved in adding this option to an earlier C6?

Thanks,

Ray

That does sound interesting...
While you are at it Gene, what about the PAL Personal Audio Link? When is that going to be available?
Thanks.

That Ray guy asks all the right questions.

Ray, I love the 08 console and thanks again for your help with the F55 adapter.

Sorry for the minor hijack, now back to the thread.

I was talking to our GM trainer and she told us that the Bluetooth option was going to be a dealer installed option and it would be available for prior C6 models...Of course everything at this time is speculation...we'll have to wait and see! It'll be nice if we can integrate it and use our OnStar Mic and Speakers for our phones!!!

Ray,

I'll find out for you next week. I expect it to be a direct drop in retrofit.

That's what I was thinking, Paul. I can't be too complicated.

I wonder what happens if you don't have Onstar in a 07 Z51?
I have Bluetooth in my DD on a Pioneer Z2 and love it.

Funny, this question is the whole reason I came to corvette forum today, and here it is right on the front page. Can't wait to hear the results of this. Having an OEM bluetooth integration would be killer.

I wonder if there's any link up with the NAV screen for bluetooth caller ID and phonebook data. That sure would be slick.

They've been talking about the PAL for at least 4 model years that I know of. If they are just now starting to talk about Bluetooth, it may be available for the C8 or C9.

That would be fantastic! It is very difficult getting used to driving a car without BT once you've driven one with a good system....at least for me.

Any thoughts on how the on/off hook and voice command prompt buttons could be installed?

I would be very disappointed if it isn't integrated with the DIC and Nav. I doubt they would do this, but imagine those functions integrated with the HUD!

Another nice feature I've seen in some systems is having dialing integrated between the POI database in the Nav system and BT. Use case: Looking for somewhere to stay, searching hotels within certain distance, find one in POI DB that looks good, and there's either a "Call POI" soft button on the Nav screen and/or a voice command you useto make a call to see if they have a vacancy.
