Sounds like some of the officers have serious psychological issues and use the little authority they have to harass people. I'm all for psychological screening off all police officers. It should be a federal law. This was also a large waste of resources when gang bangers and drugs run rampant through the streets of California.

Very disturbing story.

If that happened anywhere but CA I would be shocked..... In that state it's really not surprising to me. I'm a LEO and it's none of my business why someone has a 1000 hp car. The reasoning behind that statement is completely devoid of logic! Should he assume simply because someone owns a gun they are out to shoot someone? Ridiculous!!

To me it's another GREAT reason I'd never live in The Socialist Republic of CA.........

Obvious that Riverside has a problem with street racers. They have recieved about $1,000,000 (One Million) in grants to battle this problem. I know from personal experience that these types of gatherings start as a venue for talking cars, showing the newest additions, etc., then as the streets clear out, it turns into street racing action. Why couldnt they hold their gathering at a more appropriate time instead of 11 at night? Someone tell me why would the numerous police departments (including the California Highway Patrol, Riverside County Sheriff's Department, and police from Baldwin Park, Fontana, Irwindale, Moreno Valley, Ontario and Mount San Jacinto Community College.) just target these poor people for no reason? GIVE ME A BREAK !!!!
If they got a ticket, they were obviously breaking the law. You dont issue a ticket for some arbritary infraction you just made up because you have nothing better to do, it wouldnt hold up in court !!!!
I'm all for performance, fast cars and racing, but theres a place for it and it's at the track !!!!!
When they run a redlight racing and kill your son/daughter maybe you'll open your eyes to the bigger picture.

Maybe if that money was used to combat gangs we would not have innocent children lying dead on the ground from gun shot wounds while playing in a park. Or mothers shot dead walking out of a CHURCH holding their CHILDS hand by a stray bullet from gang crossfire. Solve the big problems first. And let's call our representatives and require all law enforcement officers take entrance, and bi-annual psychological tests. This needs to be a federal law.

Sorry Jeff. Have to disagree with you on this one. There were at least EIGHT law enforcement agencies, more than 100officers taking part in this harassment. Sounds like a bigger problem than some of the officers having serious psychological issue. How can a concerted effort with so many rescources just materialize out of thin air to harass those few poor souls.

Dont know if your a law enforcement officer or not, but at least I know most agiencies do psychological testing of their officers, so I think your off base here to. And NO, I'm not a law enforcement officer.

I would tend to agree with you on this point. But then, I have to ask the question, why was it necessary to gather this amount of rescources together and send them to this gathering???? HARASSMENT?????
