Default Goodyear Runflats

I have an 2006 z51 vert. At around 8500 all 4 were repalced and goodyear paid about 1/2 the bill. Now at around 16000 miles the tires are way down again. I dont race it and dont drive like a maniac. I'm in florida so that may have something to do with the premature wear but I really dont know for sure. Anyone else seeing this or am I just lucky?
Thanks.

I replaced my runflats at ~16K. I now have 27K total and still about 50% left on the tires. Sounds like the hotter asphalt may be a factor.

I have the Supercar tires on my Z and at almost 8000 miles am ready for some new ones....I think the problem may be with your left foot....

My left foot dosnt do much when I drive but if you mean my right foot may be to aggresive then maybe a little. In never smoked them and I drive the vette like I've driven all my past cars so I'm thinking it's got something to do with the heat in florida.

I have heard all different points of view and results from these tires...leads you to believe that driving technique and locale are primary factors... But who knows.

I'm at 11,400 and it looks like they still have a lot of tread left.

I have read that 10,000 (low end) and 20,000 (high end) is the norm for these tires. I had to change mine at just over 15,000.

I went with wide ovals this time. They ride better have good traction, cost less and should get close to 30,000 miles. I know that for some reason they are being discontinued.
(maybe because they last to long)

Are they wearing evenly? If not, an alignment would help. The asphalt in Florida sometimes has a high shell content, which is very abrasive. BTW, I noticed the same thing on motorcycle tires when I moved to Florida. I agree the heat is an issue. In the summer, The road in front of my house gets up to 130 degrees.

Never heard that about the high shell content. That might explain it. Many things about florida are a little different. Lets see if goodyear goes for it again. Goodyear - great tires but can you makem just a little tougher? Maybe a hot weather mix.

Replaced my C5's runflats at 60k. They still had tread but tires were "hard" and traction was in the crapper. The C6 seems to be going the same route at 29k. Traction is better than new and there is very little tread wear. 31 psi cold.
