Default Just finished my hood decal (pix)

I was lucky enough to win a pretty low bid on an auction site, and got my new underhood decal today in the mail. He's also got a nice web page (I have encouraged him to become a supporting vendor) at
www.corvettekidz.com
I may be in the minority here, but I actually prefer the decal to having it painted...The clean cut lines between all of the colors....the way it is textured by the shape of the flag that is indented into the hood, and the detail of the decal...I simply prefer it to (most of) the painted efforts I've seen. The silver part of this one even has enough metalflake in it that it matches the painted split spokes (which I no longer have, but its a nice touch!!) Lots of heat with a hair dryer, and I've never had a problem with the application staying on the hoodliner either:

Very sharp! So, just for clarity for me, you have used these before and haven't had any problem with them coming off? Thanks.

That's correct. I had one on my C5 for two years and it looked like the day I put it on when I sold the car. The first secret is to use LOTS of heat, and to go over and over the decal, taking your time to cover every square inch --- again, over and over and over and etc..
The REAL secret is to put a white sock on your hand so that you can rub the hottest part of the decal, and consistently work from the inside to the outside, pressing it into the fabric and the indentations in the hood.........

I tried this before I got my painted one, and it looked like S^&T. This is the best job installing one of these I have seen.

Been there, did that, ordered it from Mid America. Followed the instructions and it was sitting on my engine the following morning. It is now sitting on my garage wall.

Is Mansfield in East or West Texas? My wife loves East Texas, and she used to live just outside of Dallas......
