I am new to this site and have been lurking around. There is wonderful information. I wondered why so many people will not drive in the rain or a even a fog. I think it must be more of a need to do a more thorough cleaning after a rain. I drove mine 200 miles when I got it on a rainy day. It handled wonderfully. I admit I did get on it a bit, but it never lost traction.

I am so glad to see the "rain drivers" come out in force! I was statrting to think everyone on here had a little too much OCD about the whole "rain, fog, too sunny, too dark, too hot, too cold, wind is blowing wrong direction, I never drive the vette on Tuesday's" thing ..................

It's good to know I'm not alone....................

I can tell you that my wife and I drove to Corpus Christi Tx. last September. We drove two days in solid rain and drove thru one hurricane. The only hurricane to hit the US mainland in '07. I used my cruise control, averaged 65 to 75 mph and never had a problem. I even have my original tires with 15K on them. Don't let anyone tell you, you can't drive these C6's in the rain. They do great. Why would GM or any other manufacture sale a car you couldn't drive in the rain. Take it and enjoy the drive. Sorry t hear the reason for your trip but enjoy your car.

[QUOTE=C6_blackhawk;1564522124]The vette handles great in the rain compared to most all other rear wheel drive sports cars. I wouldn't worry about driving it.

mine is DD, handles great in the rain

While its a work of art, it is after all a CAR designed to be driven. I drive mine in almost all weather conditions except for deep snow; just clean it off as soon after the weather as possible and enjoy it for what it is.

so what do you drive when you don't drive your vette? is that car more fun to drive? if not, then why not drive the vette even though you don't have to...

Sorry to hear of your loss, hope you and all of your family members cope well.
As for the 'vette in the rain .... it is a car, 1st and last. I drive mine in anything short of snow ... which we don't get much of. Yesterday it rained here, had the choice of the 300C, wife's SUV, or the 'vette. We took the 'vette. It's a hoot no matter what the weather! TC helps a lot, just don't use the cruise. You're gonna wash it ANYWAY!

CAUTION:
In the rain or snow, if the driver-side window is open , even a little bit, the driver-side wiper will wipe water onto the power window switches and your left arm and leg.

I drive mine everyday as it's my daily driver. Just easy on the gas and no cruise control.

I drove BABY in the rain and found something out. The Corvette is made of cotton candy...it melted...NOT! The rain moves back and off the hood and windshield in an unusual manner. I got caught out in the rain after an all night party at a hotel. I drove BABY home in the rain, and while it was still raining when I got home, I washed her in the rain and then pulled her in the garage and dried her off. It was about 45 degrees and that was the fastest I'd ever washed a car.
