Default Another Ticket -- Can you suggest a front plate frame?

I think that finally the cost for tickets for not having a front license plate has exceeded the cost of a plate frame. Can you suggest something that doesn't make it look like I'm hanging a sign on the front of my car?

You have to decide whether you like the plate centered on the car or offset. I prefer the offset, as centered makes the car look 'bucktoothed' to me.
I am going to try the 'hide-a-way' plate mount that several vendors sell. It is offset and does require drilling two holes under your bumper (!!!) but when I want to I can slide the plate under the front of the car.
There are lots of vendors that sell different solutions for the centered one........color matched, removable, chrome....you just have to decide what it is you want and what is going to look the best on your car.

Top Flight Reproductions removeable bracket. Two wingnuts and it comes right off. Sits fairly low in the center. There's usually a thread on the front page of this forum for them.

Another vote for the top flight removable braket.

I hardly ever "wear" the front plate, but it always rides with me ready for action.

I got mine from SLP Performance (a supporting vendor). It is VERY nice and was super easy to mount! And best of all it can be easily removed for shows or for washing/cleaning/polishing. It comes in a very good looking black powder coat finish. I just got it this winter becuase I did not like my original. I don't have pics yet as it is still in the garage for winter. If you want I can try and take some pics and post them later in the week.

Good luck!

I've always wondered what the purpose was of not attaching the plate to the mount, carrying it in the car. Seems to me if the cop is ***** enough to stop you to give you a ticket, having it in the car is an admission you know it isn't on the car. "Forgetting" does not seem likely to sway a *****, but rather allow him to say "next time you won't forget"

I have done this in the past. The explanation is that the Bra doesn't fit with the front plate on. I just took the bra off and SORRY forgot to put the front plate back on.

I am running the front plate bracket with my plate on it that I got from the National Corvette Museum. It sits waaay back under, but vertical. Take a look. So far not a problem. I did get stopped and he said nothing about it ... and he gunned me coming at him.

Is the real reason you weren't running a front plate because of the cost of the frame????....or is it the looks ....

TopFlight's bracket is the way to go. I leave it on all the time now, after a while you get used to it. Also nice not to have that "uh-oh" feeling every time a police car comes at you. Hey, it's the law. Until they change it, I'll mount the front plate. If you choose not to, and your state requires it, we don't really want to hear your complaints about getting a ticket. You chose to get one.

Forum member Undy is local to me and has the offset one on his C6Z. It looks much better than the centered ones. If I was going to give in and run a front plate, and had a C6, that's the one I'd go with.

Default Top Flight + painted frame

I have a Topflight removable and added a painted metel frame($5). Just mount the plate to the Topflight, then mount the frame, and conforms to the V shape of the bracket.

Another Top-Flight ditto-head here. Makes the most sense...you put on when needed, take off when not. No fuss, no muss!
