Default VIS carbon fiber hood install

Here are some pictures of an excellent product BY VIS Racing. I'm hooked on carbon fiber, what's next?

No, I don't think so. As you can see the finish is a thick very shiny clear coat.

Looks good.

Vis had a CF hood that worked with the maggie Here is was on my C5..

I WAS REALLY addicted to Carbon when I had my C5...if you can not tell...LOL Kept CF in the engine bay when I did the motor and color change.

I went to the VIS Racing corporate website and the price reflected there is approximately $950.00.......is the above price really correct?

The website also states that the hood is intended for off-road use only with the use of hood securing pins.

With that said; can you say anything about the weight of the carbon fiber hood?

I have seen some off road track hoods that were literally as thin as a potato chip for ultimate weight savings in autocross applications.

I like the weight savings and look of carbon fiber, but not to the extent of it not being suited for a daily driver......again; can you provide any insight as to the weight, fit and overall finish of the carbon fiber hood as compared to the OEM hood?

Your help is much appreciated.

I bought this on EBAY and not directly from VIS. I'll send some higher resolution pictures soon.

Not for me. IMHO looks like one of those rice racers (Hondas) that the kid couldnt afford to paint the JC Whitney taped on body kit. Sorry JK. But as long as you like it.

sorry for bumping an old thread, but this seems to be the only thread I can find with the Vis hood installed on the C6. The pics are no longer working, anyway you can post em up again?

I just started a thread for pics for all 3 vis hoods. Which one do you have?
