Default Invisicord Installation - Help

Can anyone give me some suggestions re: getting the multi-wire connector out of the back of the rear-view mirror. Can't seem to get it out and I don't want to pull on the wires. Appreciate any suggestions.

Default Just squeeze

If I remember correctly there is a small tab at the top of the plug that must be squeezed. Just squeeze the tab and gently wiggle the plig and it pulls right out. I wouldn't force it. Mine came out immediately with minimal force.

I've been doing that. It just doesn't want to come out.

In my C5 I took the set screw out and removed the mirror. Then took a small nail compressed the tab on the plug and it slid right out. On my C6 I had to turn the mirror so that I could access it better from the driver's seat. Took the same small nail and compressed the tab and the plug came right out.

I had trouble with mine too. I pressed the tab on top and had to wiggle and really pull with force to get it out.

Installed mine this past weekend. Squeeze the tab and pull out. Bugman's pics of the installation are excellent. Took all of 2 minutes. Sure works better than changing batteries in my Solo S2.

if you crank your mirror down, you can do it without unplugging it also.

Be very careful moving that mirror around...dont move it around very much. It has a very poorly designed cam lock system and once you move that mirror around, it then gets loose and problematic to fix.

for wiring the invisicord to the mirror use bugman's instructions. last may i used the directions on the invisicord site and discovered they were wrong. after i figured out how they were wrong and posted it in this thread. they may have been corrected since, i don't know. it's yellow to pink (middle of botton row, #13) and black to black (top row) for switched operation.

Yup, that's exactly what I did, and it was a breeze. The only other item I would do IMHO, is use a small wire tie, and tie the inviscord to the factory cord coming out of the rear view mirror plug.

Doing this helps support the invisacord wire, and reduces the chance of the inviscord being pulled out of the rear view mirror plug.
