You just described a fun track car and pawned it off as a "chicks car". Wow, I think many Corvette owners think the driving dream is heated seats, touch screen nav, and LOTS of zaino.

I can't find the "rolling eyes" emoticon fast enough. More fun to drive?

BTW, haven't found a "down" of my Vette yet.

Much of the S2000 better handling feel when stock is from its sticky Bridgestone S02 with treadwear of 140. What do you think happens when you take a stock C6 with treadwear of 300 or 220 and slap on some stick 140 or 100 treadwear tires?
More weight + more power = a lot of $$$ to replace tires.

...that's what would happen.

Miata's, Mini's, MR2's, etc. are all fine little cars and for what they were designed for they do it well they are just to small for my needs or wants. plus i would wager the Corvette is faster on a real race track not some parking lot course designed for go-karts.

I like the vette better. I like power though. I mean the car gets to 150-160 pretty damn fast. the s2000 acceleration just does not compare and I won't even coment on the exhaust note.

weight it weight the s2000 is going to feel more nimble but I orded the z51 package and the grip is impressive. It is has more grip than the average joe has ***** I guaranty that. I know everbody things they are some superstar driver but many people have not really tracked there car or taken any kind of driving training.

It is kind of an apples and oranges comparison IMO though. I feel with equal wheel time though I would lap faster in a C6 Z51 than my buddis s2000. At the drag strip it would be like a one legged man in an *** kicking contest.

I would look at the Exige if you want a small nimple car like that. I would bet the 240hp version of that would be quite a kick to drive. I think they weigh something rediculos like 2k as opposed to something like 2800 on the s2000.

If you are not a "power" oriented person save you money and buy something like the s2000.

To the OP (if you're still monitoring this thread you're a good sport), I think the best remarks are from those who have owned both--or better yet--have taken both out on a road course. I am not one of them. It's hard to compare a 240hp 4-banger to a 400 or 436hp V8. One does the 1/4 in a smidgen over 14 sec and the other in the 12's--just to name but one example. Though they are sportscars, they are simply in a different class, yet both the best bang for the buck where performance is measured.

I had followed the S2k media for several years prior to its release in 2000 because I was a big Honda fan and was certain to own one. I was discouraged by the 10k dealer mark-up on a 32k car here in Cali and passed on it, coming back now and then for 3 years until the 350Z was released. I ended up choosing the latter. For class sake, I think the 350Z would be a better comparison. In fact, there have been many articles pitting these two together back in '03 and '04. From my recollection, the s2k always edged out the 350Z on a road course, but editors were split if they had to take one home. I had since been in the market for an s2k for my wife and did more test driving, but my wife preferred the way of BMW.

I do believe the s2k is an awesome car and does what it was intended to do extremely well, but I kindly add that I do not believe an s2k is in the same league whatsoever. That's why all the fallout.

Just came across one such issue in C&D, August 03 "Racy Roadsters!"
1st place: s2k
2: Nissan 350Z
3. Porsche Boxster
4. BMW Z4
5. Audi TT Quattro

Default Traded my 04 S2000 for my 07 Vert

The S2000 was better for city type driving. It was easier to get in and out of tight spaces and more fun 0-40MPH. For highway driving and rural areas, the Vette is better. What bothered me the most is that the S2000 used to run at nearly 4000 rpm at highway speeds in the overdrive! The car never relaxed and had no storage space. If I had enough money, I would own both. If I had to choose, my Vette would win.

This thread really came out of the closet. I wouldn't want to own any of the cars on the C&D list above. Nice but not worth my money for me.
