My brain tumor has returned...
Sorry Forum Members;
How else can you title it? My wife and I painfully learned yesterday that my brain cancer has returned. This is the third time and unfortunately it's aggressive.
We have been fighting this since 2001 and we thought the battle was over until 2006 (confirmed) when it again reared it's ugly claws. My most recent MRI left no doubt that it's back and it's twice the size since the previous MRI from October.
I've had two serious operations followed by radiation. I'm meeting with another oncologist tomorrow whom I suspect will recommend an aggressive form of chemotherapy perhaps even followed by by another operation. Radiation will not be an option as my body is still healing from the last bout March of 2007.
That being said, we are exceptionally optimistic and I have much to be thankful for...
1) I married my childhood sweetheart-Met her when I was 12 when I lived in Europe. I don't know where I'd be without her.
2) I achieved my goal of becoming an RCMP Officer and "I'm very good at it." However my personal highlight was a successful fundraising effort and bike-ride for the 2005 Cops For Cancer Tour-a ride for children dealing with cancer.
3) We achieved our goal of finding that "perfect" home to live in (luck had everything to do with that one).
4) And yes, I finally got the car that I always wanted by saving long and hard by not having to make payments (personal goal):2005 Z51/1SB/Manual/Nav.
It's been great learning as much as I can from the Forum and in a short period of time, providing suggestions to new members.
We are not sure what the future holds other than this will be fought every step of the way. For obvious reasons, I can't be on her as frequently as I'd like.
Wish us luck and "save the wave."
Rob/Red Cell.

You have fought it before and hopefully you can fight the fight again. Very sad news but you have a great attitude and as you know that is half the battle my prayers are with you and your family, best of luck.

I can't tell you how personally saddened I am by this post. I will hope for every break you can get along the way. I know every person who doesn't respond feels the same.

Rob: My prayers are with you and I encourage you to be strong and fight back to win again. Look for new treatments and pursue them. Winning cancer battles is happening every day.

Hey Rob, sorry to hear about this. From your description it sounds like you're a "get tough" kind of guy. With this type of attitude and the evident support from those close to you, I'm sure you get on top of this.
Lot of folks dealing with the big C. I've been beating back thyroid cancer on and off for the last 20 years.
Best of luck and my thoughts are with you.

You are way too young for that drama in your life. My prayers are with you. You do indeed have much to be thankful for and therefore, much to live for. Keep fighting! JD
