F55 Shock Replacement Costs
I searched the forums but could not find a clear answer to this question:
What is the expected life/mileage of the F55 shocks, and how much does it cost to replace them when they need to be replaced?
Thanks in advance for sharing your wisdom.

BUT if you do need to replace them the cost is very high per unit. Question to above: is their a non-prorated warranty on them up to 100K miles?

I do not know about the warranty ... but the cost is about $800 per shock if it needs replacement ... it will get cheaper over time probably.

Jim Mero, a suspension engineer at G.M. who led the team that engineered both the Cadillac and Corvette MSRC systems said that the shock absorbers were so sturdy and simple that they should last the life of the car.

My friend that owns a 2003 Convertible just had one replaced. It was $1,500 (installed) BUT GM covered the cost even though it was out of warranty. I guess GM expected it to last the "lifetime" of the car also.

I believe this is all speculation at this point. To the best of my knowledge noone on this or another forum down the highway has needed to have them replaced yet on a C6.
I have my fingers crossed that they will last the life of the car.

Busted the electronic connector (little nipple/plastic piece) on the top of the shock when I changed out the gears in my rear end. Guess what, 1-piece unit...(part#88952529) $774.36 - kind of spendy.

Lord Manufacturing states...."Durability for the life of the vehicle." With their mechanical simplicity (few moving parts), no appreciable abrasion or sedimentation, low power requirements and broad temperature operating range the dampers themselves will likely last for the life of the vehicle.
In the unlikely event of a failure, I expect they would be expensive to replace.

doggone, that means, per AP's post, the whole rest of the shock's only about another $25.

It is worth it for sure ... and will probably last a very very long time, but they are expensive.
