Good luck with the repairs.

Any chance you can just get it repaired and hopefully keep the cost low enough to skip getting insurance involved?

That looks like an easy fix. The car will be flawless again with a new rock chip free nose.

Airbag deployed, not sure but I think those are pricey. Curious to see the insurance estimate.

Wow! Just think if you didn't have the clear bra!!!!

Sorry not trying to make light of what happened, but you didn't get injured, and it's good to see you have a sense of humor.

Ouch! You're right. From what I've heard airbags are big money to reset.

I like the Supercar tires for dry, warm weather. We get a lot of that out here.

I guess they are not the greatest for cold, wet weather.

Do like timd38 and put on some tire chains.

That's the main reason I didn't go for Z51 - tires.

Any high performance tire + cold temperature = hockey puck on teflon traction.

Glad to see you're ok. Is your passenger side headlamp scuffed also? I can't tell from the pic. These can get costly.

I've had a couple of close calls due to a heavy foot and cold tires. It takes some cast ***** to drive these things in the cold weather.

maybe there was some ice on the road or something, its weird for the car to get so crazy on you like that...

I actually find the tires to be fine in cold temps, never had any problems keeping traction in normal driving, actually I find the car to be very forgiving if you do push it a bit and get it out of line...

glad you are ok, don't worry about the car, its just a car...

Glad you're ok and it could have been a lot worse! Having said that I totally agree with you about vettes and winter in New England. Thanks but no thanks! My car is tucked safely away until spring and it's staying there. I don't need the car getting beat to snot with rock and gravel chips, snow and salt and the constant threat of some moron running into me. For me I paid a lot of money for my vette and I'm simply not putting it through the wear and tear it would get going through a typical New England winter. I have other AWD vehicles to use so I'm happy my vette is clean and shiny simply waiting for spring...

Ouch....
You're right, the SC's are not good when under 40 degrees.
We've broken traction in cold weather as well, but managed to keep it off the curbs and such.

Default Ouch!

It IS a cold-weather car: it has a heater and seat warmer. I drive my 2005 Z51 every day as long as there isn't more than 3" of snow here in the WDC area. You just have to granny it a bit & easy on the gas-o-lina. What a car! What a country!

It is, but I have the clear film on it, it might just pull right off. Adjuster is coming today.

I agree, too bad it took this to make me agree

I have an old chevy pickup I could have been driving, but after driving a vette for a while, who wants to drive that !
