Why the window? I agree 100%
The window in the hood...this is one of GMs most stupid ideas ever. This will look great when it turns white like the plastic headlamps on most of the late model cars, but at least it will hide the plastic engine cover that was designed with no imagination what-so-ever. I thought the corvette was supposed to be cutting edge. The intake runners from the 1991 low buck engine would look better than what is under the new hood. I wonder if the air grabber from the 1970 Road Runner hood will fit into this hole...now that would be much cooler but may fly off the car at 200mph.

..but why was it Blue? Of all the colors some one chose Blue. No wonder people don't care for it much

I agree the clear hood window is not one of their best ideas. I read that they used some kind of $1000 + per gallon coating to prevent it from fading? I have the article at home so I might be incorrect on exactly what they used the expensive paint for but either way it reminds me of the "polishing a turd" phrase. That hood needs to go!

no 60's guy you
The ZR1 looks just like my '07 coupe except the ZR1 is blue and my coupe is the correct yellow and doesn't have that odd-looking gadget sitting on top of the center of the engine and visible thru the peek-a-boo hood. Other than that it's the same car. Uh-huh. Humor me.

Sarurday night it goes on the block. Watch for Jay Leno to be on board. The winner can get Museum delivery plus driving lessons at Bondourant from Ron Fellows, plus several guest tickets to the Tonight Show. Obviously the car at the auction is not the one the high bidder actually drives home.

that hood and the body panels would go great on a civic

Why the H*ll did GM leave the styling of their all-time performance flagship in the hands of an eighth-grade study hall? This thing is a MESS!
