Would you consider a Vett with less power?
Having seen a state of recent fatal accidents recently of high powered cars in Europe/USA and also here on the forum, has it ever got you thinking 'do I need all this power'? Do you simply love the C6 for it's looks and would take a lesser power option if available from GM?
Though I love the power, when I see the results of an accident I often think I'd like a Vett with less power so the car would be easier to handle in various road conditions.
Would you take on with less power, and just enjoy the looks of the car?

The assumption here seems to be one of saying that we need someone to tell us what to do because we are incapable of making the decision for ourselves.
Would I consider a lower powered Corvette? I could go with a Sky, Solstice, H2000.... but I didn't - See my signature.....

I had a lower powered Corvette. It was a C4 LT4...330 hp...and trust me on this one, you can die just as fast in one of those if you're not paying attention to what's going on and what you're doing.
You don't really need all that much power to go 90mph (heck, my kid's 97 VW Jetta would do that) and if you hit a bridge railing at that speed, it doesn't much matter what you were in.

The amount of power a car has doesn't cause the accident, it's driver error. I'd like to see the numbers they are referring to and what they are considering high powered cars.
Corvettes in the 60's had over 400 horsepower then went through a slump where it got down to 220 ,in the early 80's, and people still bought them. I think it would be like then, they would just sell less of them.
I personally wouldn't, because the reason you buy these cars is performance.

Know your limits and stick to them. The Corvette can be comfortably driven within a wide range of driver choices based on the skills of the driver.
Understand your vehicle's handling characteristics. If you want to expand your grasp of them ... take a driving course.
Freedom of choice.
