I have Sirius in my 2008 Lincoln and I love it. I only have a base stereo in my 2007 Vette (no XM.) Can someone suggest what the best way to add Sirius to the Vette would be? Do the little receivers that work through the FM radio work OK, or should I replace the whole thing with an aftermarket system?

If you have a Circut City close to you, the offer theirs for $79.99 but they will not ship it to you. You must pick it up in store.

Just ordered and installed....AWESOME
Problem is, I backed the Z06 out of the garage and it had a small leak of tranny or rear fluid....oh well..at least it is under warranty

I hooked mine up tonight, which was easy.. only problem was running out of daylight while trying to keep the antenna connected.. I only tried once so far with black tape, but that didn't seem to work.
Any suggestions on keeping that connection tight?

Now that the companies have merged, I'll use the ala carte programming until new receivers/adapters come out that allow me to receive both.
Actually, if the ala carte deal works out, I save the money on an adapter....

Folks, forgive me here, or least help me understand. I understand that having the 3 satellites provide data is good but both are digital signals aren't they? If so, you get the signal or you don't. So if you get the signal you are getting all of it. The difference woul dbe that one carrier might deliver a greater amount of "data" over their download stream, which would give you better sound. But if get the signal, you get the signal, it is binary is it bot?
thanks for the guidance that is coming my way

Nope, that's a down side. The NAV and HUD headunits are fixed to display XM1/2, but at least the station ID's on the 6 presets change. I just tell people since the merger, my Corvette is able to receive Sirius through its XM receiver. Oh the look of surprise

I'm glad this thread came back to life. I hate XM for the way they do business and didn't even let the delivery folks activate my XM. I love Sirius though, and will be doing this conversion in the future.

I also made the switch to Sirius and am very happy with it...BUT...as most people here suggest to just remove the yellow wire from the connector and tape it onto the Sirius module. That is what I did. It worked for a couple days and then quit and gave me a "antenna" message on the radio. I removed the Sirius box from it's mounting spot and found that the antenna connection had come loose. I guess I applied too much pressure when taping it because some of the "tabs" on the connector had broken and could no longer make connection. The end result was having to buy the new wire from GM that connects the antenna the the Sirius module. This involved removing (not completely) the Halo and the interior trim parts below the Halo and running the new wire. What started out to be an $80.00 change, ended up being a couple hundred $'s to fix the screw up.
Morale of the story...BUY the ADAPTER and save yourself some possible aggravation! I was going to buy it at first, but didn't because of advise here on the forum. Trust me...BUY the ADAPTER!

I want to installl the SIRGM unit along with the XMtoSIRIUS dual input antenna adapter(shown on tss-radio website) that is recommended for the Corvette. My question is that I have a June built 09 Z06 with NAV and I can't find a "band" button that they say I need to use the tss-radio unit to switch from XM to SIRIUS. Can someone with a 05-08 w/NAV check their radio and let me know where I should be looking for the "band" button? Thanks.
