No BP gas, No CEL....
well my 08 is going back again for the engine light. The first time they said (called GM also) that the car was running lean. When I brought the car in the light had reset itself and then came back on 2 days later. Weird thing is that I did NOT add any new gas, so why'd it come back on?? I think GM might have some issues with the computer and ethanol for the winter months. They need to get this working correctly..

i have also had a check engine light that I could not read with my original OBD II scanner. Went out and bought another one, and it worked fine.

My original one works on all my cars, except for the new vette.

btw, i got a code P0171, and been to the dealer twice, and they don't know what it is. But the gas makes sense, I will have to check that out. Good luck

They can`t pinpoint the problem, but they can tell you if you have bad gas or if knock sensors went off,or if its a tranny problem.

PO171 is Fuel Trim System Lean Bank 1 ECM. How can they not know what that is. If I remember right it's unusually an oxygen sensor.

I too am getting a check engine light, and a friend checked it, and this is the code he got. PO172 and P0175. I have onstar, and they said my 08 vette is running rich and there is a malfunction. I have an appointment Wednesday with the dealership.
