Battery Tender Plus
I have a question regarding the Battery Tender Plus warning LED's.
For the first time, I hooked up the unit to my Vette yesterday, after almost 4 weeks of hibernation, and followed the directions.
The red LED lit up on the tender, and then the green LED started to flash, and has been flashing for 24 hours now, is that normal?
Does that mean that the battery was run way down and needs plus 24 hours to recharge?
Will the green light stay "steady on" when the charge is complete, and how long does that normally take?
What has been your experience with this battery tender?

The instructions only state green LED will flash during charging cycle, not any timetable of when the charge is expected to complete, and when the green LED goes to steady on.
Is more then 24 hours typical for this unit?
I was able to open the doors without a problem, so the battery was not dead.

It is a very slow charge, so if the battery was down it may well take over 24 hrs to bring it back up. Patience, my young grasshopper.

mine is red while charging, then steady green while charged/maintained.I started it for the first time in a couple or 3 weeks, last night, and it fired right up.I think mine is a tender junior,if that matters.

It's a tender, not a charger. It is designed to maintain the battery, not quick charge it. It takes a while if the battery is down. Once it gets the battery back to a full charge it will hold it there. A charger would get you there a lot quicker but then cook the battery once it got there.

The Tender Plus has only a 1.25 amp charge rate so it is a very small charge. It will take quite some time to charge a battery that has a fair amount of discharge.
The green light comes on when the battery reaches full charge and from that point on, the Tender will keep your battery at a full charge.

Thank you all for the sage advise!
I guess this proves how quickly the C6 batteries can discharge in just 4 weeks of inactivity.
I will continue to monitor the green LED, but patience was never one of my strong points.
One more question, I want to permanentaly hook up the Tender accessory "ring terminal" leads to the + battery post bolt and the ground bolt, what size nut do I need to secure the ring terminal to the existing bolts/nuts?

I have 3. Work just like you've said. But, every vehicle is different on the time necessary to solid green. Of my 3 the C6 took the longest. It was over 24 hours even after just been driven before storage.
As some have said, it's not a charger!

Hook up
Just purchased a C6 and read about the DBS. I have a tender. I wanted to put a cover over the car for the winter to keep the dust off.
Anyone have any unique ways to connect without leaving the hod open? Can you connect through the lighter with a window open?
