Closest I've ever been is about 16.8 gallons.
Looks like you were living on the edge man, lol.
My dad has actually run out of gas pulling into the station...TWICE...and coasted to the pump. It's pretty amusing.

Looks like it's time for the Dept. of Agriculture to visit that Chevron to check the accuracy of their pumps.

I would question if that really is your corvette. Its quite hard to drain an tank that far (and tough on the system)

I had a fuel tank unit calibration issue that would cause the fuel gage to go to empty, after start up, after a fuel fill. The gage would slowly return to full. This seemed only to occur after a fuel fill, from a near empty tank(s). I had a BCM software update performed to correct this issue. I wanted to validate the repair. So far after two (2) fuel fills, the system is operating as intended.
And yes, the dual tanks do hold 18 gallons of usable fuel. As long as the fuel pump does not run dry, the remaining fuel will lubricate the turbine pump.
