Engine Noise
Well for all of you that said you bought your car for the sound of the engine...you have to dump money into that as well if you really want to hear it.
I will put the funds toward an exhaust first and then fix the tunes.
If GM could address the tunes the way they did the exhaust (NPP) then we'd all be happy.
It's all good folks...I'll just throw more money at it to get what I want just like my Harley!
GM parts OCD...we all have it! With all that said I'll love my car.
I will look at the JL audio as well as the subwoofer thanks, I really think that will help.

At the suggestion of another Forum poster, I installed a 3.5" speaker in each of the doors and the dashboard at a cost of about $70 plus installation (About $75). I bought the Polk Audio speakers (the other poster used Boston Acoustic) from Crutchfield. What a difference. It's like there's a new system in the car.
I agree that the audio system leaves alot to be desired, but this is a small and inexpensive upgrade with a significant result. If someone needs the link to the old post, let me know and I'll do some research.
Good luck...

Have the F150 with Audiophile system; have not heard much better in anything that comes from the factory and then most aftermarket's.
Have not received my c6-Jan (hoping) with Nav but am already looking at sub woofer, JL audio "stealthbox" and speakers "fosgate", from what I understand with GM everything is run through the radio system! And the interface is a must or you can have problems. I am sure you just don't want the chain stores doing the install. Bose made a product that was good in its day, now there better out there for less. Just paranoid about someone screwing up the car and the warranty with the electronics.

If you can find the link, I would be grateful.

I am a serious audiophile in my other life. My'08 Coupe has what I consider to be a very acceptable audio system, considering I didn't
buy the car to listen to music. Having said that I agree that it could
be better in Chevy's flagship. I'm sure many will disagree with this
statement: If your listening to the stereo then you're not driving the
car. Having said that, I understand that many people are not into
messing with their vettes either for audio sound or performance. Just
think how many vette owners don't even know this forum exists!

My 2008 3LT BOSE system does have a better sound then my previous 2006, still not high fidelity, but much better.
With the engine off, and in accessory mode, it actually sounds decent.
I had asked the question to BG engineering and they stated that the 2008 stereo system and acoustics were upgraded from the previous years systems, based on customer complaints.
I agree with most of the posters, I bought the Vette for its looks and performance, but expect that an UPGRADE OPTION stereo should sound like an "upgrade."

I just picked up a 1lt and the stock system sounds pretty good, I thought I was going to have to replace it immediately but I can live with it for a while, I may even leave as is.

The base system does sound better than the Bose system. But then, the stock system in my 03 Monte Carlo sounds better than the Bose system.

I have BOSE in my Cadillac, Chev truck and the Corvette. Granted there is some difference however, you have a much better ear than I. Mine is not bad at all.
