Im guessing yes. The car has only 1800 miles on it. Its just a pain in the a$$ to have to bring it in all the time. Something like this should be caught before its installed on the car.

I used to work in a plating shop back in the day (1976-1981). There are a number of things that can cause your problem. Most have been covered in this topic already. Poor prep is the biggest cause of adhesion problems. The chroming process we used involved prepping the base metal to accept the plating (different chemicals for different metals), and lots of rinsing with water. If any of the prep material is left behind it will cause a lack of coverage. We used to copper plate first to have a base metal to polish to a high luster. Bright nickel was used over the copper and then the chrome. Between each application of metal, thorough rinsing was required especially after polishing the copper. I'm sure your warranty will cover your problem and you'll return to the lustre you desire.

Had a similar problem with my polished aluminum wheels when I had my Z. Clearcoat was peeling off, confirmed by the finance manager at the dealer. They said they had to send pics to GM, then simply told me there was nothing they could do. Goodluck!

Well in my case they did order me two rear wheels today. I just HATE having to leave the car at the Dealer to get it done. I almost always find some damage or scratch on the car whenever I leave it there.

JS,
Again you post these problems but where are the pictures you want responses but we need to see pictures so we will have more of a clue as to what has happened.
Also you said the dealer should have caught it, that is almost impossible as the only one close is a poor lot boy who could give a rats butt about your wheels, it was your responsiblity at the time of delivery to go over the car and point out the imperfections. As once you drive off the dealer could say that you caused the problem.
Now you said you have 1800 miles and only now you saw the two wheels having flat spots? Question, how many times have you washed and polished your car? Most of us here are **** and we get up close and personal with our cars when we do our cleaning, I mean I can tell you where all the rock chips are on my car. Now how could you miss these spots for 1800 miles?
Pictures???

Got some cheese with all that whine? Relax..it's still just a car. It doesn't have a heartbeat. Everything will be okay.

Wow! Tough Crowd! Cut the guy some slack. my 08 has pitted chrome on my right rear dealer has ordered a new wheel. To notice every single imperfection upon picking up a new car is nearly impossible. I didnt notice the 8 blemishes in my paint! The lighting has to be right and hit the paint at the right angle and bam 8 spots where the black paint appears to be to thin under the clearcoat. Dealer wanted to send car to local bodyshop. Wrong Answer! I didnt buy a car with repaired paint spots on it I want GM to take the car back and repaint it. Am I whining too? If so oh well. Lighten up guys. Hope your wheels are your only issue and good luck

I paid $995 for my Chrome Motorsport wheels from West Coast Corvettes...they look great, much better than the $2k GM chrome wheels....plus I had the stock wheels to sell which I did for $500 with shipping...so i actually got my wheels for less than $600....they did forget the center cap decal but they shipped then immediately...I am 110% satisfied with West Coast Corvettes
