Default Help finding Carbon Fiber CAI??

I'm about to pull the trigger on some headers and I'm looking for a CAI that is carbon fiber. Eckler's has a couple, but not sure of quality. Does Vararam, Callaway, or LPE offer theirs in carbon fiber? I've checked on websites, but no luck (maybe I will have to call). I want to keep the carbon fiber look that I have already. Suggestions would be appreciated also. Thanks!

Sorry...I like my Lingenfelter CAI but I've never seen one in carbon fiber (my emphasis was on performance rather than appearance). I know you're trying to keep to a theme though...good luck.

Here you go..Had one in my C5..

This is a C6

West Coast Corvettes Hurricane Intake System

Description: West Coast Corvettes has developed the Hurricane intake system to bring cool air outside the engine compartment in through its custom designed large intake scoops. These scoops have been designed to nearly eliminate the possibility of ingesting water yet allowing super airflow. Constructed primarily of carbon fiber, each Hurricane is supplied with a lifetime filter and filter recharge kit.

Thanks, I'm considering going that route with an intake. Pulling back the shroud like that (free cold air mod), when it rains, are you getting water coming up into the engine compartment?

I'd prefer the K&N intake to be completely carbon fiber.

We haven't had rain in Southern California for a long time so I don't know but I don't expect any problem.

I still vote for the WCC Hur. Here is the C5 version that was on my Carbon Fiber Theme.. Worked great and had no debris issues.

My Butt thinks it is worth it.

I have not had my Vette dyno-ed so I don't know for sure. That is the only real test. At 10-15 hp it is really hard to tell by the seat of the pants rating. Having said that, I think it is working well.

Here are some thoughts:
Install is a little hokey. There is a bracket in front the holds it in place. The instruction are not very clear how to mount it. I would like to have had clearer instructions and two brackets, one for each side.

I don't like the fact it does not come with silicone tubes. I mounted the clamps per instructions, but they are directly on the carbon fiber tube. I heard chacking sounds while tightening it up.

I think this is designed to work with a C5 also, so it is a kind of "one size fits all" thing.

IHMO,
Patrick

Jon, I have a unit I purchased from W.C. Corvettes that has only 300 miles on it. Can't deal with re-tune and void my warranty. Willing to sell at a fraction of the orginal purchase price. goatman1968@gmail.com
