SoCal is BURNING. So is my Vette
With the fires raging in Southern California, I am wondering what I would do if I were given an order to evacuate and had less than half an hour. I own an '06 C6 and a truck. I live alone. Would I fill my truck with stuff or take many fewer items and leave with my 'vette. I have a trailer hitch on my truck but no trailer. What would you do?

That's a tough one. If I were out there, I think I would try and get the vette to a safe place and go back and wait for the evac order.

it's only a car....pack the truck with essentials and things that are irreplaceable....sacrifice the vette to nature and buy a new with the insurance money.....

Leave the Vette? Most people insure their cars for actual cash value so you might end up having to come out of pocket to buy a new Vette. I'd be prepared....if there's a possibility of having to bug out I'd load the Vette now and get it to 'high ground' then hitch a ride home and have the truck loaded and ready to roll. I hope it doesn't come to that though....good luck.

I would probably pack my personal possessions in the truck and leave. The sentimental value of my guns, tools, momentos, and other stuff would be significant. The vette would be replaced with a new one.

I also have a truck & a Vette. I am guessing the truck & all my things would be crispy, while I was looking for a new place to live & park my unburned Corvette.
And since the OP said pack & go in less than a half hour, I don't think loading up a truck is much of an option.

Truck and Vette here too. I would take the Avalanche, fill it with what I could. My loaded 05 is only worth what? 38K?.. I have gap insurance so the Vette would have to stay.. Sucks either way for you man. I pray things work out for you.
