Sorry for your trouble, but you are wrong...it has a built in cutoff that shuts off all lights if left on for more than X minutes. Its in the manual and I've seen mine (in my 2007) work twice: (1) after a passenger left the vanity lights on, and (2) when I was being too stupid to turn off the overhead after using it to look at directions.

This is big in OT. It basically means "I don't know what you're talking about"
Here's the Wiki definition: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pancake_bunny

Now hook me up with one of the "Girls Next Door" in your profile pic so that I can bang one like a screen door in a hurricane.
Lastly, back to the O.P....You give a monkey a gun and the monkey shoots someone, who do you blame, the monkey? NOW IBTL.

Chicks dig those 4 door sedans ... especially the ones that the lights turn off by themselves .... I guess I'd must be stuck with my vette ..... Maybe I'll bring a flashlight to look at all the beautiful women ... not looking at a Corvette.
Here's looking at you kid ....

One of the funniest threads ever. But, I've learned a lot of things.
1) Dale Earnhart sometimes wears a pancake on his head.
2) Its best to buy your waffles from IHOP
3) Toyota pancakes are the best
4) If you leave any of the ancillary lights on in your Corvette there is an automatic time-out feature that will turn them off after 20 minutes.
5) 1984 Volvos can cost as much as $300.....and they have a manual choke
6) It pays to read your owners manual.

Wait... we need more pancakes before this thing gets locked.
Bunny made some special pancakes for this thread.
Wait a minute, those aren't blueberries... Bad Bunny!

Pancakes, waffles, whine and cheese are all well and good but you know, fellas, you're gonna' want more cowbell. You know we don't have many threads that feature the cowbell.

I disagree completly! I have used Toyota and GM for my business trucks over the years and have found that you get a lot more for your money with the GM product. Toyota leaves a lot of little things off that you dont notice until after the purchase. Also, (a big one) If you have to leave the Toyota overnight at the dealer for warranty work, they do not supply you with a rental. You are on your own! I found that out the hard way. I also had more recalls on the Toyota's. The public never hears about the Toyota recalls. They never seem to hit the media, but the GM recalls are always in the news long befor I got a notice of one. Not sure why. maybe America wants to damage its own industry. Support your country! Buy American! BTW, my C5 Corvette has been the most troublefree car I have owned.

Actually the good folks over at AutoBlog do a stand up job at keeping tabs on all the Toyota recalls (and every other manufacturer for that matter). Worth a minute or two if your interested in that sort of thing.

I think you hit it on the head, all you guys shouldn't be making fun of the OP. What kind of a design team puts in a feature to eliminate a dead battery and then has an easily hit **** that defeats the safety feature? I fell like i'm in an austin powers movie now.
There is the run down protection feature as others have pointed out, however if the DRIVER hits the round switch just to the left of the steering wheel, it will turn on the dome light (the mirror's lights) and it will not shut off. This is designed that way for what ever reason, however you as the driver has to turn it on/off...
The design error is that it is easy to hit when getting out of the car...
Feel better now?
