I would like to Thank Gerardo of Downsouth vettes for the beautiful custom made ALL leather shift **** & shift boot, along with console armrest and E-Brake handel & Boot. Gerardo went the extra mile in making the shift **** as I requested, I did not want the aluminum shift pattern showing. Gene from gmpartshouse.com got me the console, pod bezel and 08 fob & keys. TWO QUESTIONS, PLEASE -:
- How much of a P.I.T.A. is it to install the ebrake, shifter, boots and console lid? I've heard the '08 shifter has a new attachment method, and it can be a real Biatch to get off...
- How much more comfy is the new console lid as an armrest? (obviously the leather is much nicer, but is it notably more elbow-friendly?).

I have no idea on how hard the shifter **** is on the 08 since we just ordered some. The rest of the parts are pretty simple to install. You can find the instructions on our webpage and it will give you an idea on the installation. The console is much more confortable than the stock one. If you order one and you are not totally satisfied with it, we will gladly give you a 100% refund.
Please post a thread if you find the 'trick' to removing/installing these new shifters when you receive them. Several others have posted here about their struggle to get the old one off.
I would also be interested in getting titanium-colored stitching on ebony boots, shifter & ebrake - to match the rest of the accent stitching of the 2-tone interior...
- Is that doable?
- Do you think that might be too much of a good thing??
