In two weeks it'll be a year since I bought my new 2006 A6. Have almost 14,000 miles on it now. In June went to Bloomington Gold, then home via NCM in BG and Nashville. Just two days ago got back from trip to Nashville and Gatlinburg and Biltmore (Ashville,NC). It was great fun driving in the Smokies, although we never did find the Tale of the Dragon. Leaving in the morning to go back to Nashville.
The most comfy car I've ever driven for long trips! 1lt seats fit me fine, and I don't get my usual sore lower back at all! Just a pleasure to drive.
Averaged 29.7 mpg on my latest 1,800 mile trip! When at motels, I always try to find an end spot at least. In Gatlinburg I got lucky and had the spot beside the office island building where there were no other parking spots adjacent to it. The desk clerk liked having a nice car parked in the higher visibility spot, too!

We picked up our 07 VR Coupe April 16. Our biggest trip was Oklahoma City to Bowling Green. On the return leg we got 29.4 mpg on a tank of gas. We also got pea size hail at Memphis TN but no problems. Glass is tougher than we give it credit for. We now have 6800 miles on it. We have a road trip Oklahoma City to Fort Worth on Aug. 16, for a friends retirement party. We're looking at a trip to Billings MT in September over Beartooth Pass and through Yellowstone. At this rate we will do 18,000 in one year! ! !

I have an '05 (May 19, 2005) ... I've taken it on seven major trips ... 3 trips to Calgary and onto Vancourver from Toronto ... 2 trips to Halifax from Toronto, and once to Sebring from Toronto ... and once to Mid-Ohio ... so far I have put just over 132,000 km's (around 83,000 miles)

This car is great for cruising in! I love it!

Default ATlanta .... Blue Ridge .... Dahlonega, GA

For anyone living in TN, SC, GA or AL (I live in Atlanta, GA) here's a sweet trip.

Get on I75N just N of Atlanta (Marieta). Take I575N (transitions to the Zell Miller Hwy) through Elijay and to Blue Ridge, GA. Eat at Blue Ridge Mountain Bar-BQ owned by Bob Oldroyd in Blue Ridge. Then jump on the Morgantown Hwy/GA 60 east and south to Dahlonega, GA .... this is about a 30 mile stretch of very well maintained mountain roads with lots of hair-pins and switch backs (watch out for bikers). Stop for a soda in Dahlonega, head south through Gainsville then pick up I985/85 south back to Atlanta. 4h, 57m driving time .... a nice 6.5 hour day trip with lots of scenery and some great driving.

Just got back from a road trip from Lake Elsinore CA, sunset which was amazing. Ortega road I think it was. Hits the top of the west coast on one side and you can see the inland empire of the east side. Completely amazing...

The Vette is a good road car, but I wouldn't drive it unless I was able to take scenic, non-interstate routes. IMO, 10 hours on the interstate and you just as well be driving a Toyota.
Wasn't that a Camry I saw you in?

Just a little under 1k in our '07. No long trips scheduled yet.

Took the C5 to the CAC cruise in Colorado Springs in June. Total miles 2,878. Averaged 26.4 mpg for the trip with the worse fill-up at 23 mpg during a "canyon-type" run with a group of 23 vettes. Best at 29 mpg on the way home.

Maybe next year we'll take the C6 although the cargo area is a bit smaller.

Default 3 months in and I had to take a road trip!

I was just looking for an excuse, and my wife had to go to Denver for work, so... Seattle to Salt Lake City to Denver to Yellowstone to Helena to Coeur D'Alene to Seattle. 2800 miles in 10 days (3 in Denver).

The Vette was an absolute blast! Comfortable, good gas mileage, plenty of room for clothes, camera gear, and car washing supplies. I was even able to take the top down with all of the stuff in back (although some stuff had to sit in front of the top).

Fortunately I avoided all of the deer - two close calls, but great brakes on the Vette too!

Mine is a DD with F55.

Phoenix to Pebble Beach. IMHO this may be the most enjoyable GT auto I have ever owned.

This is a great thread. Glad to see so many Corvette owners actually using their cars.

Wow, 83k miles on a C6? Is that a record? Any problems with the car since new?

Any C6 people have more than 83k miles on the odo yet?

Default 18,000 Smiles

I live in Jacksonville, Fl. I bought my '06 vert in Langhorn, Pa. 4th of July weekend 2006 & drove home on the Skyline Drive to the Blueridge Pkw. then across S.C, Ga. and finally home to Jax. 2,800 miles and didn't want to get out of the car when I got home. Since then I've been back to the BlueRidge twice. I now have 18,000 miles. My car is garaged kept and pampered but it doesn't collect cobwebs.

The greatest fun you can have on a public road has got to be the "Tail of the Dragon".

Keep on keeping on & "Save the Wave"

Some minor issues with the car ... the partitian sensor kept acting up ... making the auto-convertable top act weird.

I got the dreaded "Wheel Hop" at the drag strip ... and the Rear Diff. decided it had had enough, and packed it in ...

Aside from that, the car has been amazing! I love taking the car on long distance trips ... it is so refreshing!

If you ever get to drive the 'Cabot Trail' on Cape Breton Island ... you will have an amazing time!

I've done several all day driving trips that have been in the 500 mile range, and two multi-day trips accross Calif, Oregon, & Nevada that were about 1,500 miles each. Since mine is not a DD, most of my 9700 miles are all long drives for fun. The car is just awesome for taking on long road trips, tearing up the pavement!
