My addiction to black ended the minute I moved to the desert.

Well, I am semi-retired for the 3rd time. Just filed with the state to start a new company; spend about 1/2 my day consulting; 2 1/2 hrs each day at 24 Hr Fitness and actively serve on the editorial board of a medical journal. Like whining about the constant maintenance of a black car, one can always make excuses about not having the time. Alternatively, if one enjoys certain things, it's easy to find the time. Spending 30 to 45 minutes three times a week hardly qualifies as a TON of extra time.

Yep I've got two Black cars. 07 Corvette & 06 Trailblazer SS [/QUOTE]

My son has a black Trailblazer SS with quite a few mods. My other son just sold his Black GTO and bought a Black Avalanche. I think there is something in the gene pool working here with the Black car addiction.

To quote someone who said this before me: "all Corvettes are black, the other ones are mistakes..."

I am in the black camp as well. Traded in the '06 black vette for an '08 black vette (both have red interior). Oh, and the garage mate is a Black Trailblazer SS. So I guess I am into black vehicles these days.

WOW....what a great collection of comments, commentaries and one liners.

If I may make one summarizing comment.....a Black vette surely stirs the emotions......

This is what makes CF soooo kewl ......Thanks to all who contributed!!!

This probably belongs in the detailing section but...

If the Corvette paint is so hard to polish like everyone says it is, why does it scratch and swirl so easily?

I recently ordered a JSB coupe (to be DD) because I'm tired of taking care of black. I have a G35 sedan - the paint is so soft it gets scratched if you look at it sideways! I also have a black '95 Z28 that is more conventional.

Everything I've read on here says the Corvette paint is super hard and requires more aggressive buffing to correct problems.

Why?
