Local dealer is willling to give me 3k less than I paid for the 2006 new and will take my GM employee discount on a 2008. I only really lose out on the sales tax which in CA is the on the full price of the car. So I pay 3K for depreciation of the car for nearly two years use. I can pick up a new 1lt, mn6, z51, npp in atomic orange for 42599.05 plus t,t,l. Heck throw in museum delivery for another $392. I also pick up a new 5 year/100K mile warranty, which is a big step up from the 3 year 36K one I am rapidly running out of now. Would you do it? I think I will.

If he is thinking museum delivery, it is being special ordered. Therefore I deduce he wants the 1LT configuration.

NPP is the dual mode exhaust. Here are the numbers for all those doubters and bs posters. Trade in quote 37 to 38K on my current C6 which has 12000 miles on it. I paid 39.7 K for it ordered from the factory after my GM employee discount and a customer loyalty certificate. So doing the subtraction and assuming the 37K trade in that is 2700 less than I paid, not counting TTL which I noted in my original post I would be losing out on. Of course it isn't a deal until the ink is on the paper and I will be working on it with the dealer this week. I actually don't want to order the car until September so I can pick it up at the museum with my nine year old on my birthday.
