Anyone desire a Ferrari after owning a C6?
I've been on the wait list for a F430 coupe for about 3 years now and I thought my name will be coming up soon so I sold my '03 NSX about 6 months ago. Turns out I sold it too soon as my salesman says maybe sometime in '08 will be my time. So I decided to get a C6 for the time being to keep me happy. After only a little over a month of owning a C6 I'm beginning to wonder whether getting a Ferrari is all worth it. The C6 has enough power, handles great, the ride is very smooth and comfortable, insurance rates are low, gas mileage is suprisingly good and I'm not paranoid about driving it anywhere. So I'm wondering if there are any C6 owners who wanted a Ferrari have decided that a C6 is good enough and no longer desire to get a Ferrari.

I've always liked Ferraris and have often thought about owning one (more likely a used F355 or F360 Modena) but 1) I'm way too thrifty (aka: CHEAP LOL ) to step up to the repair/maintenance fees often required with a car like that and 2) I simply enjoy owning/driving the fruits of my own nation's auto industry.
I will say this though, owning/driving a Corvette C6 has certainly reduced my general desire to own any other sports/performance car.

I want a Ferrari (actually I'd probably get a Lambo instead) but I don't have nearly enough money for one. I'm happy that I'm getting 9/10ths of the performance for 1/5th of the price but I still would get an F430 or Gallardo if I could

If I wanted a Ferrari, I'd have a Ferrari in the garage, instead of 2 Corvettes.

I have wanted one before the C6 and likely will long after the C6. To me, the Ferrari is much more than just a performance car whereas the C6 is precisely that-there is no way, in my mind, to fairly compare these two cars makes of cars...

Personally, i'd walk down to the local lamborghini shop and buy one of those. No way I would wait 3 years for a car. While the vette is a great car, to me its a daily driver. Its not an exotic and I would not be happy with just the vette if I could afford an exotic as well.

I've always wanted an Exotic. I was always more of a Lambo boy but an F430 would be awesome but I don't think I will be able to afford either in the near future.
The Corvette is an awesome car at a price that will allow many people to enjoy the thrill of driving a high performance car. JMHO

The F430's engine is the shiznit!
Unfortunately, they ruined the looks of the prettiest modern Ferrari, the Modena, when they came up with the F430's body style.
Part of me says that I'd dump my C6 vert in a heartbeat for a 360 Spyder. Part of me says that I'd rather not deal with the maintenance issues.
If my best friend ever sells his 360 coupe which I pretty much drive whenever I want, I might pull the trigger on a Spyder.

i take a lambo or ferrari anyday. they are more then just cars to me. a truly handbuilt work of art. now will a corvette make one look bad in a race...yup. and that why i LOVE my vette. a 1000 rwhp lambo would cost a zillion buck. i can make a truly unique 1000 rwhp vette for 100k

Screw the F430..the new 08' base C6 Z51 is close in performance and nearly equal to the heavier roadster version. The Z06 will smoke it and perform even better on a roadcourse. Plus the Z is a lot cheaper than the f430 and available now!
My supercar wishlist: C6 Z06, Lamborghini Murcielago lp640, Koenigsegg CCX.
