Default A sedan to go with your C6

If you like your C6 as much as all the other Forum members, but occasionally need a 4-door sedan for some odd reason, the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V will share an engine with the Blue Devil. Might make a nice pair in your upscale garage.

I'll likely be adding a Lexus GS460 or a GS-F to my stable as the 4-door daily driver.

We will be turning in the 2006 CTS in 2009 and getting the 2009 CTS. Not the V-Series.

Love the CTS, but my DD is now an A4; wife liked it better and I had to give in on this one.

well, to me this would quality the owner as wealthy OR foolish for incurring the debt service......

my other 'car' is a Jeep Grand Cherokee and it is perfect ( and IMO a considerably better vehicle all around than a Trailblazer or any similar GM product ). No weather stops it and there are times here when NO rear wheel drive only vehicle should be on the roads......especially one with huge amounts of power....just what is needed for what we call 'black ice' and what most call freezing rain.....

Just what we need - another $100,000 halo car. I'd much rather them build a 436 hp, LS3 CTS-V with a choice of a six speed auto, or six speed manual for 50-55K (like the current "V")

I think the current thinking on the CTS-V is that it will have a LS7. Probably just like the one in the Z06 but who can be sure. The direct injection 3.6L V6 will have something like 300 hp.

Other interesting rumors, the Pontiac G8 GT will start around $35K, and you get 360 hp (LS2?), 6 speed, rwd etc.

yep. Either that or the LS3. The blue devil motor would just be waayyy overkill.

Couldn't wait for the CTS-V auto, so we got the 300 SRT8, wife's car.

The CTS-V is a great partner for the C6-check my profile.
Aside from the under-engineered rear-end, it is a blast to drive.

My other car is beat up 96 Tacoma which I use as a truck, hauling rocks, bricks, you name it - not afraid to use it.

The wife drives a Subie Forester Turbo with a manual trans, and I must say, is perhaps the biggest sleeper out there. With the AWD it connects so well and just baffles the Bimmer and Ricer crowd. I just have to keep it out of the twisties - it feels like it might actually roll over!

I already do. Our family figures it gives us carbon credits. Not enough though given the C6, M3, 335i and supercharged 540

According to GM:

The G8 GT is powered by a uniquely configured 6.0L small-block V-8, rated at 362 horsepower (270 kW) and 391 lb.-ft. of torque (530 Nm). A six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode is standard and features the fuel-saving Active Fuel Management system, which enhances fuel economy by alternating between eight- and four-cylinder power. An optional six-speed manual transmission will be available soon after launch.

A limited-slip rear differential is standard with GT models. "

The 6.0L V8 w/DoD is designated "L76".
