which wheels to get polished or stock?
I was gonna get polished on the new vette, but its like 1200 dollars extra. I've never been a fan of chrome wheels. I just don't know if Jetstream blue will look nice with stock wheels. Maybe I sell the stock wheels and buy a set of aftermarket.
Just trying to figure out what to get and maybe shed some dollars off the price.
I think 4LT is done. Its not available yet and I still think its a bad idea for a daily driver. Now do I dump polished wheels as well?

Many people have been unhappy with the GM polished wheels. My advice, stick with the standard wheels and get aftermarket wheels instead.

I don't think you can lose with either standard painted or polished. Having said that, I think the polished would look fantastic with Jetstream Blue. They'd be my choice (just as they were with my Machine Silver).

Swapped mine out for an after market set... I'm not alone, I'm sure some members have their slightly used(like new) wheels for sale for a lot less than $1200.00! I went with a black set( bought from a forum member.)

Chromed wheels look great on older Vettes with other chrome body pieces. On the no chrome C6, all attention is drawn to the wheels, with none drawn to the car.
Comp grey wheels look good on a black only car that's going for the blacked out, tinted window look. On any other color car they just look like wheels whose owner hasn't bothered to clean the brake dust off of them.
Polished wheels are the bastard child of matte and chrome and are, unfortunately, incapable of making their own appearance statement.
The standard matte wheels look most appropriate for a world class GT. Check out the mega-buck Euro exoticars...You'd be hard pressed to find one that comes out of the factory with anything but matte wheels.
I made my annual visit to the Greenwich Councours d'Elegance this weekend. Sunday was exotics from 1900 to present. As always, vintage exotics of every description were there. Also present were factory displays from Aston Martin, Spyker, Maserati, Lamborghini, Carrera GT, McLaren, Bugatti supercar, etc.
Percentage of chrome wheels: 0
Percentage of polished wheels: 0
Percentage of matte wheels: 100
They know what they're doing. They're not going to pimp works of art.
While it's relatively bargain basement, the C6 is a world class automobile. It should be treated as such. Polished wheels do nothing for the car and chrome wheels stopped being appropriate for the Corvette in 1973.

I'm not sure what you mean by "credentials", but you can be completely into any color car, any finish wheels... and liver and brussels sprouts if you like.
It's America, dammit!

Just something to consider. People on this forum are constantly giving away polished wheels for $400 to $600 plus shipping. I love them. They look good and are easy to clean. I even bought a second set for a spare.

If I had it to do over, I would get the comp grey. Even if you decide you dont like the way they look they bring more than the stock silver wheels and for not much more. You could probably even trade the comp grey wheels for a set of chrome or polished. The comp grey are only 395 on an 07, the chrome, 1800.

Tough decision. I too did not want chrome and ultimately decided to get the base and save $1200. After a year, I am toying with the idea of buying a used set of polished. They can be bought here for around $600.

As others have said the polished wheels suck. The problem is that they clear coat over a crappie finish so you can't do much to make them look better. I'd get the stock wheel and buy some after market or stock chrome ones for less than $1000.
I got these for $700.

Comp Grey.
Polished.
Chrome - no example - putting a chrome Chinese wheel on an American icon just does not work for me.
